Come Back My Friend, I’ve Missed You

Come Back My Friend, I’ve Missed You

There are days when I feel an extra bounce in my step and feel as though I’m on my game, ahead of the day and that I’m truly “winning”. And then there are days when my timing is off, nothing goes quite as planned, I’m rushing to beat the clock and I’m behind on everything. I’m sure most can relate. And if you can’t, I’m truly jealous!

It’s kind of the same with my relationship with God. There are periods where I feel in step with Him. I feel so close to the Holy Spirit, and I am listening with my ears and seeing with my eyes. I am filtering every thought and decision both personal and business through the lens of my faith. What a feeling of peace, exuberance, obedience and joy that is for me.

But there are times I go through when I feel disconnected, disobedient, unfocused and lost. Times when I find I haven’t dedicated the time and discipline to connect with my God on a regular basis to feel close. For me, it’s similar to when I miss several phone calls from one of my closest friends or family members and remember that I have been remiss in returning those calls. Not because I don’t love them, or need them, but because I let other things take priority.

But no matter how far we find ourselves from God, He is always right there. Waiting. Hoping. Encouraging. With arms and heart wide open. He loves us so and patiently waits for us to open the door that He has been knocking on. And He will keep knocking, like any good Father.

And the amazing thing to realize, is that when we find ourselves far from God, it isn’t because He moved, it is because we moved. He is still right where we left Him. And all we have to do is take steps to move closer to Him again. Find a little more time and attention. He wants a relationship with us so much and He forgives us for our sins no matter how large they feel.

So if you’re feeling far from God, take a step toward Him. He will show you a path and will welcome you with open arms. If you’d like a friend in the journey, I’m here to walk with you. Reach out any time!

Really needed to read and absorb content like this right now. Seems we all get caught up and it takes something as simple as an article like this to ground us again. Thank you for sharing! ❤️
