COMMODITY co-host gala dinner and raise £135,000 for children's charity.

For the second year running, Commodity co-hosted the gala dinner of our charity partner ‘Dreams Come True’. It was a fabulous evening, with many of our business contacts generously making time to attend. This year, the event took place in the impressive De Vere Connaught Rooms in London. Princess Michael of Kent, the charity’s ambassador, was also there to lend royal support to the evening.

The Gala dinner, celebrating the charity's 30th anniversary included various fundraising initiatives including auctioning off an eclectic mix of items, from a unique spitfire experience to Beyoncé/Jay-Z VIP tickets, and even including a Hamleys toy store sleepover for 10 kids!

Researchers Natalie and Hattie (photographed here with former BBC Royal Correspondent Jennie Bond) joined our CEO Jakob and Commodity's clients at the Covent garden gala dinner.

Thanks to the wonderful support of our clients – both those who were able to attend and those who couldn’t come but still generously donated to the cause – we helped raise over £135k for this UK charity.

Background

Jakob Bloch picked Dreams Come True as the beneficiary charity for his personal fundraising on the back of running the Marathon Des Sables - aka The World’s Toughest Footrace in 2016. CEO and ultra-runner Jakob has since clocked up many more miles for the charity. His personal fundraising efforts have contributed close to £90,000 to Dreams. He joined the board in 2016. He has a huge personal interest in the charity and continues to raise large sums of money through participating in some of the world’s iconic endurance races and ultra marathons. His team at Commodity is hugely supportive of the charity and has completed a number of initiatives to raise funds and awareness for Dreams Come True.

“It’s a huge honour for me to be able to help Dreams in their wonderful work to enrich the lives of those children and young adults struggling with serious conditions. Running an ultra marathon is nothing compared to the daily challenges these inspiring people face, so being able to bring them some happiness is a real privilege.”
