Compete with Yourself

Compete with Yourself

“The best competition I have is against myself to become better.” John Wooden

Wooden was the basketball coach for the UCLA Bruins where he brought home 10 championships within 12 Years.

He told his players to always focus on performing at their best, and not give attention to winning the game. Because if you do the best you can wins will follow. To often we get caught up in beating our competitors, which causes us to lose sight on where we are, and what needs to be done. Then by default, we come up short.

So to this, focus on your game. Focus on giving effort in areas that need improvement, and ones that are already working. Look in the mirror for inspiration, not to your competitors latest accomplishment.

Be the best you can be.

Totally agree! Ourselves should be our only competition. 👍
