Join us for another recap of the past few weeks as we reflect on what happened in July. As usual, there was a lot happening, and it was fantastic to see. So, let’s dive in!
July was an extremely busy month with the highlight of the month for many people being the Galway Races. The Connacht Hotel sponsored the the big race on the Monday of the Races the QR Handicap, known as the Melbourne Cup for Amateur Jockeys. An incredible performance from David Dunsdon & Sirius who storm to victory in the big race. Ladies Day was once again a massive success with incredible style on show. Davina Knight from Portarlington, Co Offaly, has been crowned the Best Dressed Lady at Ladies Day at the Galway Races - scooping the €10,000 cash prize.
Galway city was abuzz with excitement as the highly anticipated Galway Hooker Secret Sessions series of events kicked off in July. This unique event, nestled in a top-secret location in the heart of the city, was a blend of excellent brews, lively entertainment, and an unforgettable atmosphere. Daily sessions ran from 3:30 pm to 9:30 pm daily, Secret Sessions opened its doors to a limited number of guests, ensuring an exclusive and intimate experience. Hopefully this is the start of something very exciting for Galway Hooker.
We were delighted to see the opening of our brand new sauna is now open and ready for use! Whether you’re looking to unwind after a workout or simply seeking a moment of relaxation, our sauna provides the perfect environment for you to de-stress and rejuvenate. Active 24 Fitness continues to provide a wonderful service for guests and members alike thanks to our warm and helpful team.
July saw the return of the Annual Galway Bay Golf Resort Golf in aid of Croi Heart and Stroke Charity on another beautiful summer day. Players were treated to a round with the course in spectacular condition thanks to Damien Coleman and our team of groundskeepers. The event is one of our most important CSR Fundraisers. Thanks to everyone who joined us on the day and supported this wonderful cause.
