Euroconstruct predicts that approximately 33,400 new homes will be completed in Ireland by 2024, which is a sign of significant growth in the country's housing market. This follows an anticipated completion of 31,000 homes by the end of 2023, highlighting a steady rise in construction output.
As discussed at Euroconstruct's 96th conference in Dublin, Ireland's construction output is expected to expand by 3.2% this year and further rise to 4.4% next year. This growth rate positions Ireland as the leader in construction growth among 19 European countries, particularly in the housing sector, which is forecasted to see a 7.9% increase.
In contrast to Ireland's positive outlook, the overall construction activity across Europe is predicted to decline due to macroeconomic challenges, interest rate hikes, and tightening credit conditions. However, countries like Switzerland, Slovakia, the UK, Spain, and Portugal are expected to see marginal to modest growth.
This detailed analysis highlights Ireland's robust growth in the construction sector, distinguishing it as a noteworthy exception in a period of general uncertainty in European construction markets.
