Continuing My Journey in Community Leadership: Supporting Solano's Businesses
I’m honored to continue my service on the board of Solano Hispanic Chamber of Commerce dedicated to empowering Hispanic businesses in the Solano County area. This role has been both a privilege and a transformative journey, allowing me to represent and support our vibrant business community, bringing their voices and needs to broader platforms.
Over the past years, I’ve been fortunate to take on multiple roles where I could leverage my experience to uplift and connect with small businesses. Serving as Vice President for Benicia and Vallejo, I worked diligently to represent and advocate for businesses, fostering connections and community growth. My commitment to this mission also extended to a broader reach through my role as Northern Region Chair for the California Hispanic Chambers of Commerce, ensuring that our local perspectives had a seat at state-level discussions. Alongside this, my work as a Small Business Development Center (SBDC) consultant has allowed me to provide bilingual technical assistance in English and Spanish to business owners navigating complex challenges.
This new term brings a renewed opportunity to step back from executive leadership, yet continue contributing as a committee chair or in any role that aligns with the nonprofit's goals. My focus will remain on supporting new board members, offering guidance and encouragement as they step into their roles, and ensuring that our collective efforts continue to foster business growth and community empowerment.
For anyone considering a path of community service and leadership, I hope to inspire by sharing my journey. The experience gained, the relationships built with local officials and leaders, and the personal growth that comes with giving back to our community have been invaluable. It’s a reminder that when we come together to support one another, our businesses and our community thrive.
