This contract negotiation and drafting bootcamp is for you if contracts scare you
The Commercially Savvy Lawyer©
Several years ago on a LinkedIn thread, a recruiter I know asked if anyone knew of any good books on how to be a good commercial lawyer that he could recommend to a law firm partner he works with to give to his junior lawyers. At that moment, I had an "Aha!" moment and set to work writing about being commercially savvy here on LinkedIn, on Substack, and talking about it on YouTube. What started off as a marketing tool to build my Manhattan-based law firm is turning into a passion, a distillation of nearly twenty years of blood, sweat, and tears, of long hours laboring over difficult and complex contracts with counterparts all over the world, and grappling with tough legal, corporate, and commercial practical problems. Law school does not prepare lawyers adequately for the practice of law - only the practice of law can get you there.
That said, when I first started out as a technology lawyer working for a pan-Arab satellite TV company in Bahrain, I learned the most about how to negotiate and draft contracts from the seasoned businessmen and engineers with whom I worked on some pretty massive satellite and technology contracts. Those businessmen and those early mega-deals lay the foundation for the "The Commercially Savvy Lawyer©" approach to contract negotiation and drafting.
In my nearly twenty years of practice, I have learned that not all lawyers are commercially savvy (they may be book smart but cannot apply the law) and many businessmen and engineers are extremely commercially savvy. Because I learned it as a young lawyer starting out in Bahrain, I know that this is a skill set that can be taught and learned. One does not need to be a lawyer to be commercially savvy or to take my upcoming Contract Drafting and Negotiation Bootcamp on Maven from February 13th through February 24th ("Bootcamp.")
Maven
I discovered Maven last Autumn on Twitter. Someone I followed mentioned it in a tweet I happened to see - I applied and was accepted on the amazing course. Maven is a one-stop shop for professionals who are experts in their fields. Specifically, Maven "empowers the world's experts to make an impact teaching what they love." Indeed, Maven is an amazing platform that facilitates both teaching and learning on a live cohort basis, which makes the platform wholly unique.
I love teaching and spent many summers teaching English as a second language in Egypt and England when I was a law student. I have been told I am an effective teacher who can elicit the best from my students and I have often been moved to tears when seeing my students who start off lacking confidence and end up smashing their test scores and coming out on top of their respective classes.

The Contract Negotiation and Drafting Bootcamp
If you are:
this Bootcamp is for you.
There is no need to suffer from contract phobia any longer if you join the Commercially Savvy Lawyer Contract Negotiation and Drafting Bootcamp.
What will the Bootcamp look like?
There are six modules each lasting 90 minutes. In each module, we will be learning how to approach contract negotiation and drafting holistically. We will learn what each part of the contract does, how each part of the contract operates independently and codependently, we will learn about redlining, and what a normal contract negotiation looks like (if there is such a thing!)
In this Bootcamp, it will be my great honor and privilege to share the skills that I developed throughout my career advising global iconic companies like Orbit, Al Jazeera Media Network, and Qatar Airways. I had to pay my dues but you won't have to if you take this course. The days of "faking it till you make it" will be well and truly over.
