"Each time I walk into the lobby at MTC, I look with respect at the Presidential Medal of Freedom awarded to J. Clifford MacDonald, MTC’s founder, a leader among leaders. I have spent my life in this field, and never ever met anyone else awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom, or who influenced the world the way J. Clifford MacDonald did—and frankly continues to do. He challenged the status quo by refusing to hide his son away in an institution. He opened schools and opened the eyes of the world to the abilities of those challenged with disabilities. Over the decades, MTC has followed his example, always, always with hope, and with his determination, wisdom, and willingness to challenge and change the system, to give hope to families, that may feel hopeless. In addition, most of all, to keep our promises to the individuals who trust us with their lives. MTC has changed thousands of lives for the better.
I share the powerful history of MTC to provide context to our essence and legacy.
MTC is an organization upending the status quo, tirelessly advocating for equitable access, opportunities, and inclusion for people with disabilities. MTC’s innovative, transformational, continually evaluating, and elevating services, meet the evolving needs of the community we represent and serve." Karenne Levy, MTC President/CEO
