COVID-19 is becoming the first social media pendamic!
The alarming messages that parachute into our social media feeds, text messages and private chat groups are becoming toxic.
As public fear and uncertainty grow with the rise in deaths and confirmed cases across the world, many rumors or misinformation are becoming viral all over the net.
In this short article I will clarify some circulating rumors about COVID-19 outbreak.
1-“Women are less susceptible of getting infected by COVID-19”
False!
Data shows that men and women have the same probability of getting infected by COVID-19. However, it seems that death rate among men is higher
2- “All infected people will end in IC”
False!
One out of 5 patients might experience a severe or critical illness, and 1 out of 4 critical cases might end in IC
3-“Older people will die if infected by COVID-19”
False!
Fatality rates seems higher among older people but this doesn’t mean that all seniors will die and the recovery rate in patients 80+ is more than 85%.
4-“Patients with underlying health issues will die if infected by COVID-19”
False!
COVID-19 infection seems dangerous for patients with underlying health issues but this doesn’t mean they will all die and the recovery rate remain above 80%.

4yThank you for sharing this post. Its so true that mostly people are getting infected by the toxic media influence and panedamic. Or in some cases its the negligance of people who are not taking measures to stay self isolated.
