COVID19 and Its Impact on Pharma/Biotech Commercial Hiring

Hope this finds you all healthy and safe. What crazy and unprecedented times in which we are currently living.  

Based on my 15 years of extensive recruiting in the pharma and biotech space, I wanted to share my insights on the COVID19 situation and how it is currently affecting pharma/biotech hiring, at least from the perspective of MY desk. 

Most of you are probably working from home at this point and getting adjusted to a new way of doing things. So far COVID19 does not seem to be halting commercial role hiring with any of my clients. Companies are continuing to hire and have just replaced in-person interviews with video interviews. Hopefully this situation doesn't change in the coming months. New hires are even being onboarded remotely. While hiring has not stopped, it is a tad slower as each company settles into their new processes. If you are interviewing, please be patient. 

Whether it affects your job or not, COVID19 will likely affect each of us in some way or another. Our hearts go out to the people who have lost their jobs and those that are still in limbo. Use your time working from home to be compassionate for others…check on your neighbors (keeping social distancing in effect, of course).
