Creator Meet Ups in London - build your body of work.
Hello, Bernie writing to you here.
I know what you are thinking.
Not another LinkedIn newsletter to get you into someone's crappy sales funnel.
I promise you this is helpful.
The newsletter you are about to two minutes and seven seconds of your life reading is to invite you to our Creator Meet Ups and, is only useful if London is part of your life - ONLY pay attention if this works for you.
We will help you connect online and in person with London creators in to help you find the headspace to think and people to collaborate with to get your work done.
Is meet up still a thing?
I've made some of the best friendships via Meet Up since I joined in 2008 - it was event where I first heard about WordPress, Coworking, Basecamp, Sharing Economy, Bar Camps and I've been running Meet Ups with people non-stop since 2008.
Are you a creator?
And when we say creators, we mean people who are carving out their path, creating and building things.
You can be at the early stages of a creative project or self-funded start-up or looking to build discipline and voice around your personal work.
Every week creators, authors, freelancers, academics, YouTubers, comedians, parents, marketers, bloggers, developers, event managers, journalists, activists, musicians, poets, lawyers, sailors, Etsy Kings and Queens and other independent self-starters meet to support each other.
Here is Write Club at Creative Works in E17
Be a creator, not a consumer.
You can call yourself what you like, but we prefer creator over entrepreneur or other macho, privileged titles.
Over lockdown, many people from our network had the chance to start a business or side project and are now 'doing their own thing.'
Lockdown gave them the space to become a creator in society, not only a consumer.
So now people are:
Born 2008
Since 2008 we've run our Creator Meet Ups in London's "indie" coworking spaces.
We run over 500 workshops, writing groups, podcast workshops, art classes and more significant panel events.
What is this LinkedIn newsletter about?
Every week, we'll send you an email with event invites, tips and other news about making your ideas happen.
Taking part in these meetups will enable you to connect with good people to help you develop and collaborate.
Sometimes we recommend trusted products and services where we get a kickback at no extra cost to you.
Lockdown stopped us, but now we are back!
While we ran over a hundred online events in our other projects, we never quite worked out what to do with our creator meetups during the lockdown.

Now we can meet in person; we've found our mojo again!
London's 'indie' coworking spaces are where we meet.
We're collaborating with coworking spaces in London like:
And we will add more spaces over the next few months.
These meetups happen in collaboration with:
Be a creator, not a consumer? What does that mean?
Gerald from Impact Brixton is where we got the "be a creator, not a consumer" line.
One day Gerald was riffing with his son.
He pointed out the power of making videos and podcasts rather than only watching or listening to them; he said something like, "Son, be a creator, not a consumer!"
What do I get out of these Meet Ups?
These creator meetups are about having fun, connecting, getting out of your comfort zone and finding your voice.
They are also about learning how to create your own economic engine.
All our meetups are free and run in community-led coworking spaces.
What is coming up now?
Author Pamela Wilson will come sharing how she used her Zero to Book podcast with Jeff Goins to launch two best selling books.
Then Debbie and Connor will run a session on The 5 Questions Every Business' Blog Must Answer.
