Critical Systems Thinking and the Management of Complexity Programme STARTS SOON
The first module of the Introduction to Critical Systems Thinking and the Management of Complexity explores: The Development of Systems Thinking; The Nature of Complexity; ‘Wicked Problems’; The Need for Systems Thinking; The History of Systems Thinking, and The Critical Systems Thinking Mindset.
The topics are covered in a pre-recorded interview with Prof Mike C Jackson, Author of the book that has the same title as this programme. It, and other resources in multi-media formats, are all available to participants on-demand. And they will be for at least one year after the programme ends.
Next Tuesday the topic of the module is explored further in a livestreamed dialogues between Mike Jackson and a guest at 8am (GMT) and again with a second guest at 4pm (GMT). This gives participants around the world to engage in at least one live session and ask questions. And both live sessions are also recorded for later viewing or reviewing.

I am delighted to announce that the first guests are Geoff Marlow at 8am and Luis Sambo at 4pm.
Geoff began his career as a digital systems engineer with British Aerospace and the BBC, before moving in the early 1980’s to the open innovation services lab Cambridge Consultants Ltd (CCL), where he ran the Digital Systems Group.
CCL helped clients not just with new technologies but also with removing barriers between internal fiefdoms, factions, and silos. When a CCL client asked Geoff: "You couldn't come and make our people behave more like your people, could you?" it launched the career path he’s been on ever since, helping clients create future-fit organisational cultures of innovation, agility, and adaptiveness.
With CCL’s parent company Arthur D. Little (ADL), Geoff helped clients throughout Europe, Asia and the US create future-fit cultures. Then in 1995, ADL acquired Innovation Associates, the organisational learning consulting firm established by Peter Senge. Geoff joined the ADL+IA team as Corporate Director, Organisational Learning & Innovation Leadership.
He worked with Arie de Geus on the Board of the UK Society for Organisational Learning (SoL) and with Peter Senge on the Global SoL Leadership Team.
Professor Luis Sambo, MD, Specialist in Public Health, holds a PhD on Critical Systems Thinking by the Faculty of Law, Business and Politics of the University of Hull, UK. Former appointments include Regional Director for Africa of the World Health Organization , Former Director of Human Resources of the Ministry of Health and Minister of Health of Angola.

Participants in the programme are also invited to join smaller Reflection Groups so they can discuss how the insights can be put to practice use by them in various situations.
Because participants are from many parts of the world, many sectors (health, finance, energy, transport, law, government, etc) and a wide range of functions (CEO, Senior project manager, policy advisor, strategic, risk manager etc) a broad range of perspectives will enhance the learning experience.
It's not too late to join this cohort. The deadline is Monday Feb 20th DETAILS
