New state-of-the-art radiotherapy equipment benefiting patients in the East

Cancer patients are benefiting from a new type of radiotherapy which reduces treatment time whilst increasing accuracy and patient comfort.

Surface Guided Radiotherapy (SGRT) is now being offered to patients receiving radiotherapy treatment at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (CUH) and Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital’s NHS Foundation Trust (NNUH) which uses specialist cameras to create a unique 3D outline of the surface of a patient’s body.

CUH named as a top employer for apprentices

Our hospitals have been listed as one of the Top 100 Apprenticeship Employers 2024 after ranking 83rd in the league table.

Between April 2023 and 31 March this year, we signed up more than 274 apprentices across 44 different subjects including nursing, allied healthcare professions, healthcare sciences, estates and facilities, finance, customer service, business administration, and digital marketing.

Kate Greenwood, CUH work opportunities manager, said:

This is an incredible achievement for the Trust, which has worked so hard to create opportunities for apprentices and the chance to earn while they learn new skills.
