Indian maths teacher develops solar-powered car from the scratch

Bilal Ahmed, a math teacher from Srinagar in Kashmir, has spent 11 years researching and developing a solar-powered car that looks like a Delorean, with upward-opening doors. Nearly every surface of the car is covered in monocrystalline solar panels, and the car also features a braking system that regenerates power to its batteries to save energy. Ahmed spent over €18,200 on the fully-automatic car, achieved his impressive feat without any external funding, and sourced solar panels that produce more kw/h of electricity than other panels, ideal for the less sunny conditions in Kashmir. Ahmed hopes to mass-produce the vehicles and to start a company, with support from the innovation center at the National Institute of Technology in Srinagar. The car may provide employment opportunities for young people in the region.

2) Forgotten history

Taiwan marked the 76th anniversary of the start of the 228 massacres in February. In this picture, you can see that protesters stormed the stage as the Taipei mayor, Chiang Wan-an, speaks during an event marking the 76th anniversary of the February 228 massacre in Taipei.

What happened 76 years ago?

The 228 Massacre was a violent crackdown that occurred in Taiwan in 1947 when the Chinese Nationalist Party government suppressed an anti-government uprising. Before this, Taiwan was under Japanese colonial rule between 1895 and 1945, during which the Japanese developed Taiwan's infrastructure and economy, improving the standard of living. The event that sparked the massacre was an incident in which a group of agents from the Tobacco Monopoly Bureau confiscated contraband cigarettes from a woman, and when she protested, one of the agents beat her with his pistol. The incident added to the existing discontent over rising unemployment, inflation, and government corruption, leading to mass protests on February 28, 1947.

3) The other side

You might think that the Iran Revolution is dead. Indeed, fewer people are demonstrating due to the catastrophic conditions regarding human rights in the country. But there is no sign of giving up. This time, I will show you an ugly "other side" of the story. While we (Europeans) are still debating on putting the IRGC (Islamic Revolutionary Guardian Corps) on the EU Sanctions List - over 700 girls have been poisoned in schools by toxic gas since November. Is this an act of revenge of the government as the majority of girls protested during the Iran Revolution? Is it a sign that girls schools should be closed - to prevent that these girls have access to education (just like the Taliban bans girls from schools & education)? Or is this a coincidence?

What about Jamshid Sharmahd? A german citizen with a persian background - he was kidnapped by Iranian Special Forces in Dubai while traveling to Mumbai a couple of months ago. A court in Iran has sentenced him to death on the charge of "Corruption on Earth". Iran is accusing him of being the leader of a pro-monarchist terrorist group. How is it possible, that a goverment in the Middle East is capable to kidnap a german/european citizen so easily?
