$4 billion investment plans to power New York's future

We're building a smarter, stronger, cleaner energy system in New York; upgrading the transmission grid to enhance resiliency, reliability and connect locally-produced clean energy.

With plans to invest more than $4 billion to modernise and strengthen the grid by 2030, this historic modernisation effort will support our 1.7 million customers and help achieve New York’s climate, clean energy and equity goals.

The UK's biggest subsea connection project gets the green light

Ofgem has confirmed its final approval on the costs associated with delivery of Eastern Green Link 2 (EGL2), enabling construction to start on the 525kV, 2GW subsea connection between Peterhead in the north-east of Scotland and Drax on the east coast of England.

Green light for plans to reinforce network between Bramford and Twinstead

the Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero has approved our development consent order application for the Bramford to Twinstead reinforcement, after an independent panel recommended that the application be approved.

The project is part of The Great Grid Upgrade, and is one of 17 infrastructure projects proposed across the UK.

Work begins on the £400 million Yorkshire GREEN energy enablement project

The project will upgrade existing infrastructure in North Yorkshire and build a new 10km electricity overhead line along with a short section of underground cables, sealing end compounds and two new substations.

Construction begins on Dodson Creek Solar Project in Ohio

National Grid Renewables have commenced onsite construction at the Dodson Creek Solar Project in Highland County, Ohio. Once operational, the project will deliver 117MW of clean solar power and generate an estimated $49 million in direct economic benefit for the local community.

In the past year, National Grid Electricity Distribution has directly delivered more than £23 million of fuel poverty savings to customers by helping them with things like energy efficiency measures and benefit applications.
