Cyber Security - Global Observations
I was recently asked if I thought that the number of UK cyber security roles were as a result of the recent fines issued by ICO. My thought is that many businesses still have their heads buried deep in the sand and are still ignoring the risks.
My recent observations on the global cyber security market is - I think the UK cyber security position is behind the US though it was until recently slowly catching up as the demand for cyber security is high.
The UK was on a par with Israel and Brasil's growth in cyber security, though recent changes in taxation has stunted emerging cyber growth in UK micro and small business which has resulted in Israel surging ahead of the UK with some extremely innovative products and services, moreover, Israel's government encourages cyber start-ups.
India is also producing masses of extremely capable cyber security staff, off shoring to India is still strong, though may reduce slightly as salaries are increasing.
Poland and Romania seem to have an increasing number quality staff, with lot's of Polish seeking employment in other countries, especially in Europe.
What is interesting is the increase of bug bounty hunters in poorer countries, allowing cyber enthusiasts to make a living (if they're good), often getting to that all important first rung on the employment ladder, my concern is them being drawn to the dark side.
Other countries to watch are Pakistan and Tunisia. The cyber talent in Australia, UAE and Singapore is also doing well, though they seem to be importing talent.

6yMissed that! I've seen a growth in outsourcing to Romania in a similar style of India's outsourcing.
