New Autonomous Reconnaissance & Security System

A new Autonomous Ground Vehicle (AGV) was featured at the Association of the United States Army’s (AUSA) annual meeting.

Diamondback is an autonomous reconnaissance and security vehicle system from L3Harris Technologies .

Edward Zoiss , President, Space and Airborne Systems, L3Harris, said; “We are expanding our platform and mission system autonomy capabilities, from air and sea, to support robotic vehicles making first contact with threats in land environments.

“The Diamondback prototype is easily reconfigurable, highly mobile and rapidly scalable due to its modular and open systems architecture as well as its focus on commercial components and mobility.”

Honeywell Partners with Merlin on Autonomy for Military Aircraft

Honeywell Aerospace Technologies and Merlin have signed an agreement to bring autonomy to a range of aircraft, including military fleets.

With this partnership, Merlin Pilot, a non-human pilot system, will integrate with Honeywell Anthem’s advanced avionics suite to reduce pilot workloads and enhance operational efficiency for special missions.

Bob Buddecke , President of Electronic Solutions, Honeywell Aerospace Technologies, said; “This collaboration will benefit the military significantly, as this autonomy solution helps alleviate the pilot shortage by reducing the number of pilots required for certain aircraft operations.

“By enabling single-pilot operations and automating key tasks, this partnership provides a scalable and safe solution to ease pilot workload and optimize fleet operations for both the military and commercial aviation industry.”
