PRACTITIONER CAMOUFLAGED

PRACTITIONER CAMOUFLAGED

In the din and the cacophony of technology, change, disruption, and transformation the real harbinger of change remains mostly unseen, unheard. It’s not so easy to hear of a Sreedharan and it happens rarely when the practitioner hits the top position and is in total control of the project. The thumb rule is a large number of intermediaries and supervisors pick up the mantle of the practitioner, at a much later date to realise that he had camouflaged. From the sales guy to even MD at times, all try to give you a feeling that you are talking to the practitioner.

Some have perfected this art to such an extent that you will be able to catch them only on the shop floor, while on the drawing board, while coding - the brick and mortar execution of projects. While you can pass off as one with the ignorant yet the decision maker, large number of cracks remain congenital to the project and keep nagging the executors as the project or the activity progresses.

Consultants are regularly in the mode of know all, deliver all. Not having delivered much does not have a dampening impact on their spirits. They would have been chided earlier for non delivery but the chance of cash registers ringing again emboldens them to commit the same mistake again. In the first place, it is not a mistake for them. If they don’t do so they might be out of the market. While the practitioner was busy doing his job this genre was born to battle it out in the commercial arena.

This genre of camouflaged practitioners have perfected the art of influencing decisions, whatever name you assign to them, they do exactly the same job. The practitioner even at his very best is not able to deliver what has been promised by his flamboyant brethren. The lack of quality is visible all around. Time for the practitioners to take over is theirs. They have to be responsible end to end.

THE PRACTITIONER CAMOUFLAGED IS A THREAT TO OUR TECH ENABLED GROWTH.
