Darkness

There is a darkness coming. There is darkness all around the world. Not only in wars but in the minds of many. Tormented by their thoughts every day, they try to run and hide by drinking, by partying, by taking drugs to make the briefest of escapes for the next day the torment returns in full force and so the endless battle continues.

There is no end to any fight by running away and hiding. The devil will always find you as soon as you close your eyes. The doubts, the beliefs of not good enough, not capable, not worthy and of being too big. The instinct is to retract, play small, hide and not be seen.

Never talk to anyone, even your loved ones, close your heart off, wrap it in lead to keep it safe. But this does not work. This prolongs your suffering, your anguish when the door closes as your last friend leaves the party that served to distract you for a few hours.

Now you have mess to clean up, not of your dwelling but of your mind. Tears will flow as you yearn deeply for connection to another being, to feel loved, to allow yourself to feel vulnerable. But you can't, you won't allow yourself. You remain contracted until finally, the limiting beliefs win the battle, you can face it no more, you are not worthy of life, you will not be missed, you will be forgotten in an instant, the world will be a better place without you.

The dark clouds move in, you feel like you are at the bottom of a deep, dark well, all alone. Even the rats have left. You have nothing, there is nothing but despair. And yet, in this darkest of darkest moments, there is a crack of light. A small slither of hope.

A moment of truth that you are making it all up, it is not real. You are indeed capable like any other being. You are indeed worthy and needed and loved. There is a chink around the lead that covers your heart. You remember your loved one, you remember your child and you remember that you are loved beyond measure. It is you who will not allow yourself to feel loved.

The love is there, clear for everyone to see and feel but you have rejected it. Until now, because love is the most powerful, it will find a way through even in the darkest of moments for if it does not, the darkness will consume you and it will end.

Love will never give up on you, it will endlessly try to break free and reach you. You only have to open your eyes and clear your mind and you will see love all around you. You will see there is no reason to despair, no reason for darkness. You only have to open your eyes and let in the light.

The light is like a wave as it crashes all around you, dispelling the darkness and covering you in light and love. It is followed quickly by joy and excitement. Suddenly you are alive, suddenly you are excited about the future. You feel love and you feel healed.

You feel you will never return to the darkness, everything is going to be alright now. But the darkness will return, the despair will return. The beliefs that do not serve you but seek to destroy you will come back to haunt you.

Be prepared. Remember the love, remember the light will save you. And now it is time to learn. Learn how to fight, learn awareness of how you are and what is happening to you. Learn to let your heart break free forever and you will feel darkness no longer.
