Darkness & Light

Darkness & Light

Perspective and perception are important tools when plumbing the depths of our imagination. Take this image for example. Black sand? An off world closeup of the surface of a distant moon in our solar system? How about wind blown snow hidden below the dark shadows of a low hanging tree branch in a Northwest forest? Perspective and perception. Two elements which serve to either confound or give us clarity in the art of life.

With so many across the globe confounded by the varying perspectives and perceptions of current events in the world it's important to take pause at the closing of this year and consider how and why we have reached the point we find ourselves at. Is it through clarity or confusion? Is it black, white or a myriad shades of gray that determine our feelings and control our emotions? Is it as simple as dark and light or, like this snow, an illusion conceived by our perspective and perception? In darkness we seek the light to illuminate our path, our perspective, and our perception. Something to ponder on these dark winter days as our planet completes another circuit around a life giving star in the galaxy we call home.

Seeing beyond seeing. It's more than meets the eye. Discover both the how and the why at the The Photo Forum where image creation is only part of the story.
