DATS Producing World-Class Technicians Around the Globe Since 1990

Looking for Skilled Technicians? The DIMO Academy for Technical Skills (DATS), has been producing world-class technicians since 1990. DATS, the educational arm of DIMO's leading engineering conglomerate, was established in 1939 and was sponsored at the time by Mercedes-Benz AG. To date, DATS has produced 600 graduates who are employed around the world.

DATS offers qualifications in Automobile Mechatronics (KFZ Mechatroniker) and Plant Technician for Sanitary heating and air-conditioning (Anlagenmechaniker Shk) according to German Dual Vocational Training Standards. DIMO is the first and only company in Sri Lanka to be officially recognized as a dual vocational training partner by the German Chamber of Industry and Commerce AHK and the Association of German Chambers of Industry and Commerce DIHK.

The Automobile Mechatronics and Plant Technician qualifications are accredited as category “A” by AHK-DIHK and thereby are awarded full recognition when applicants apply for employment in Germany. DATS has partnered with Goethe institute and trains its students in the German language up to level B1 to fulfil the language requirements for employment in Germany. Successful DATS graduates now work in Germany, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Canada, the United States, and several countries in the Middle East.
