Day 24 - liveboards
Day 24: The grand finale of the #ThoughtSpotAdventCalendar. You are probably busy so it will be #SpeedOfThought and fun. We'll look at creating liveboards, or how to save the answers you've collected in one place.
Let's start with a brief introduction. Liveboard is not another name for dashboard. As you know, according to ThoughtSpot - dashboards are dead. And they are right. There is a completely different philosophy here. You generate the answers and collect them. Not, as with dashboards, in reverse order. This is probably a topic for a longer discussion.
Let's start with the answer and visualise them on a KPI chart. When you have finished pin it to the newly created liveboard. You can do this in one step.
In the next steps, create several answers and visualisations and each time pin them to the liveboard you created earlier. I created a sankey chart and a heatmap.
You would probably like to know where you can find our new toy. In the example below you can see how to open the liveboard and also how to go about editing it. Take a look at how simple it is to scale elements and move them around.
From the liveboard, it is very simple to go to edit the answer and change something in the query or visualisation.
A few simple moves and you can enjoy a liveboard like the one below. I haven't done anything more here than scaling the elements, arranging them on the liveboard and renaming the individual elements. Did you notice that You actually spent most of time with answers?
This is the end of the #ThoughtSpotAdventCalendar. I will be back with a summary of the whole cycle. Now put the analytics aside. Happy Christmas to all.
