A Day in the Life of Anishma, Receptionist/ Secretary at HV Holdings Ltd

Anishma is one of the first people you would talk to if you visit or call the HV Holdings Head Office. She tells us more about a typical day at HV, as a receptionist/ secretary.

What does a typical day as Receptionist/ Secretary at HV looks like?

I start my day with a cup of coffee to get myself in a positive mood as soon as I reach the office in the morning. As receptionist, I am one of the first representatives of HV, on the phone and in person, and therefore, I always make sure to greet people with a smile on my face and in my voice. I also make sure that the reception area is clean, and well organised.

I then make a list of the tasks I need to accomplish for the day. In my job, communication is very important, so I'm constantly answering the phone and checking my email for new requests, then updating my to-do list accordingly. 

During the day, I will typically manage inquiries and forward important calls to the appropriate department/ persons, while performing administrative and clerical tasks on my to-do list.

I enjoy my lunch time with my colleagues. It is the time where I relax, discuss about current events and indulge in small talk :)

After a quick cup of tea in the afternoon, I make sure to complete my tasks of the day.

Before leaving the office, I check that all necessary electricals and lightings are unplugged/ switched off and tidy up my reception work space.

What do you love the most about your job?

I enjoy the interactions with my CEO and my colleagues. And obviously, I love what I do, knowing that I am bringing my contribution to the company.

I also like that I am sometimes entrusted with other responsibilities, thus allowing me to break out of routines.

HV has a welcoming and comfortable working environment. I truly think that there is good team spirit and a fun ambiance. I am very aware that, as in all companies, there are ups and downs, but I am genuinely happy to work for a group that is growing and that takes care of the well-being of its employees.
