Meet the a-team: Rebekah B. Product Marketer

Hi there – I’m Rebekah, and this is a slice of a day in my life working at Ahrefs.

My current job title is product marketer, but I’ve also been a UX writer and content marketer here. It’s one of my favorite things about working at Ahrefs, I think – being given the opportunity to grow across functions, roles and teams, as long as it makes sense for the company at the time.

These days my working desk looks like this:

Chaotic good, I guess?

I’ve commandeered what people in office dub “The Video Room”. It’s quiet, cosy, and a nice refuge from the harsh overhead lighting outside attacking all my assigned-seat mates…who don’t seem particularly disturbed, for some reason?

Today I got in at 8:15am. I’m a morning person, so I like to start my days early.

Bless Ahrefs; our team is filled to the absolute brim with coffee geeks so we have two incredibly fancy espresso setups, one in each pantry. Even if you know nothing about coffee, you can probably admire these:

If you were wondering there's also 5 different grinders, a filter coffee setup and pod machine
We have scales, I'm just too lazy to use them!

My double espresso is ready, so I’ll enjoy that while reading a couple of the 999 newsletters I’m subscribed to. (Some people impulse shop; I impulse subscribe.)

Once the caffeine starts to kick in and my brain and digestive system are more awake, it’s my sign to get to work.

Many of my current projects involve making videos about our product, so I thought it would be a nice touch to do this next bit over video.

I got hungry in the midst of video creation and nipped out to lunch – there’s a ton of food within walking distance of our office, and you can get just about anything you’re thinking of as long as you brave the midday heat to get there.

At Ahrefs lunch is paid for as long as you go with 5 other colleagues #teambonding

When the videos are done, I spend some time replying to DMs, questions and Slack threads, clearing emails, knocking off small tasks, and pushing ongoing projects on Basecamp.

Then I polish this piece of content for Ben.

Since we’re having a marketing all-hands call this week, I plan to do a quick catch-up on what everyone’s been up to and come up with a couple of questions and ideas to propose to the team next.

And that’sssss a random day at Ahrefs :) Come join my lunch team!
