SUMMARY

Persons in this position will perform a variety of duties to achieve company objectives for the sanitation program. This includes proper cleaning and sanitizing of equipment, rooms and tools as outlined in the company SSOP procedures. Specific job duties will be outlined by the master sanitation schedule and assigned by the Sanitation Supervisor.

TASKS

Follow SSOPs and Sanitation Supervisors direction for proper cleaning and sanitation of equipment, or area utilizing various chemicals, soaps, water, tools, etc.

• Ensures that all equipment is in safe and operating status. Ensures that any issues are addressed and corrected in a timely manner.

• Follow all company safety requirements (LOTO, chemical use, PPE, etc).

• Write and record basic information as necessary to document as required for sanitation program.

• Maintain inventory of sanitation supplies. Rotate stock as required.

• Follow company GMPs.

• Perform other duties as assigned by Sanitation Supervisor.

• Issues related to food safety reported to Sanitation Supervisor or management as appropriate.

KNOWLEDGE

  • Production and Processing — Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
  • English Language — Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.

COMMUNICATION

  • Operation and Control — controlling operations of equipment or systems.
  • Operation Monitoring — watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.

ABILITIES

  • Near Vision — the ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
  • Arm-Hand Steadiness — the ability to keep your hand and arm steady while moving your arm or while holding your arm and hand in one position.
  • Control Precision — the ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine or a vehicle to exact positions.
  • Information ordering — the ability to arrange things or actions in a certain order or pattern according to a specific rule or set of rules (e.g., patterns of numbers, letters, words, pictures, mathematical operations).
  • Perceptual Speed — the ability to quickly and accurately compare similarities and differences among sets of letters, numbers, objects, pictures, or patterns. The things to be compared may be presented at the same time or one after the other. This ability also includes comparing a presented object with a remembered object.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS

·        High School diploma preferred but not required.

  • Previous experience in sanitation duties or procedures preferred.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is frequently required to stand; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
