Several weeks ago, at InnoTrans 2024, ABB proudly introduced the Traction Battery Pro Series, marking a significant step towards sustainable rail transport. More than just a product, the Traction Battery Pro Series is a catalyst for change in rail transport.
These advanced batteries are designed to provide reliable power, improve energy efficiency, and reduce operational costs, helping operators extend train range, optimize energy usage, and reduce emissions, even on non-electrified routes. This event underscored also the industry’s dedication to electrification and innovation, with over many new solutions and advanced vehicles on display, including battery-electric and hydrogen-powered trains, which are crucial for reducing emissions and enhancing efficiency.
