Deadly Schools of India-Gurugram
Indian schools are prone to the violence and the cases are increasing day by day, sexual harassment, rape, abuse by teachers, bullying and ragging by fellow students and senior students are some of the incidents. Isnt it sad to see such innocent lives facing such kind of traumatic incidents and some loosing lives at such an early age, without any fault of them.
While we read the news and move ahead, I think the time has come when we all as a citizen, parents and human being need to act tough. Schools are minting money like anything and management is interested in just increasing the profitability and cut corners in safety security and quality of the facilities available. Are we becoming money making machine? Have we lost all the human qualities of kindness? Do we want to create such kind of nation where our children are not safe even in school?
We can definitely prevent occurrence of such incidents collectively, the incident happened at Ryan School could have been prevented if the security guys had done the checking and frisking of the bus driver who was carrying a knife inside school premises, security guards should have stopped him if he was drunk, how can be drive the vehicle when is drunk? Its all systemic failure!
- School management in India lacks administration capacity, teachers can’t be a manager and needs professional managers.
- Security in the school is mere farce security guards just sit on the gate and not vigilant.
- Number of students in each school needs drastic reduction, increase in number of students makes it almost impossible for the teachers to manage students. School needs to invest heavily in training the associated staff such as bus drivers, cleaners, assistants.
- Regular medical checkup of the staff should be mandatory including mental checkup.
- Police verification of the staff should be mandatory.
- All the students should be trained in reporting any unwarranted act by adults in any way- written, mail, discussion with teachers.
- Government must have a vigilant body/inspection body comprising of minimum 5% of the parents of the students in the same school who should visit school monthly and give the report to Government on the lapses from the school, this should result into heavy penalties and cancellation of the license of the school.
- All the school should have minimum of police constable patrolling the school, it will make a lots of difference.
- Its a matter of life and death, we spend a lot of money for education and even not getting a basic safety of our child.
- Culprits of such incidents should get punishment under the category of rarest of rare case
- All the CCTV cameras should be handed over to AMC and should be functional and the audit report should be submitted to parents each month from the AMC.
- Education minister should owe the accountability and any negligence should cost him his chair.
- No Liquor and tobacco shops should be permitted within 3kms of the school area.
- All the school buses should have CCTV cameras and GPS tracker

7ySo true, but school in India has become business now a days, and high level of corruption allows them to get away from the sins. We really required stringent laws and that too not just on paper.
