Dear Toby Trust

Dear Toby Trust

The Dear Toby Trust is a charity that Orange Appointments Ltd support each year as it is extremely close to our hearts. In a few days time, a team of 30 runners, including Will Pearce will be running the Royal Parks Half Marathon in London to raise money (fundraising link here) for this amazing charity. This team includes our dear friends Verity Hambrook-Skinner and Nathan Hambrook-Skinner , mother and father of their dear little boy called Toby.

The Dear Toby Trust was established in 2017, in memory of Toby Hambrook-Skinner who passed away at Great Ormond Street Hospital after an epic battle with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia (AML). He was just seven months old. Toby was diagnosed at eight weeks and began an aggressive treatment plan. Toby’s family and friends have set up this charity to find new ways to treat rare cancers and reduce the suffering of children enduring cancer treatment.

The Dear Toby Trust believe there is a way to beat childhood cancer using less aggressive methods. The medical professionals need money to do this, money they don’t have.

Despite everything he faced Toby was a happy boy who made the most of every day and made those around him happier for knowing him. Now he is gone, his legacy lives on – a more hopeful future for children with cancer.

The Dear Toby Trust raises money to support paediatric (childhood) cancer care and research in the UK. We work particularly closely with Great Ormond Street Hospital. Our aim is to help specialist centres find new and ground-breaking treatments for children living with cancer.

The trust has no administrative costs, meaning that every penny of your money is channelled directly into projects. Since 2017, The Dear Toby Trust has raised over £100,000 and this money is already being used to fund new research into CAR T cell therapy for AML – a treatment that was so desperately needed but wasn’t available for Toby”

You can find out more on the trusts website where you can also make donation to help Toby’s parents and the trust find a kinder way to treat childhood cancer.
