DEBRIEF

1. Growing up in Kansas as the Son of a Pastor

• Andrew grew up feeling like he always had to be Perfect as the Son of a Pastor
• He did a lot of entrepreneurial pursuits growing up
• He joined the Marine Corps because of his brother who ended up passing away while serving

2. Time in the Marine Corps and Eagle Scouts

• Andrew enlisted and then became commissioned, but all he wanted to do was be like his brother
• He is grateful for the tribe of Marines who share the same values and principles that have his back until this day; a great lesson when forming a team or community to accomplish a goal
• Andrew also spent time in his childhood as an Eagle Scout and he came to the revelation that many CEOs were Eagle Scouts

3. Rock Bottom is a Trampoline that brings you closer to Faith

• Andrew dealt with issues that many of us go through from drinking to gambling and starting businesses
• At one point, Andrew felt like he lost the love of God because of the sins he was committing
• However, he came to a revelation of Forgiving himself and that was a major turning point for him which led to newfound success
• He also realized that the Fear of God Brings Wisdom

4. Preparation meets Opportunity

• Andrew shared the story of a Colonel who successfully made it through as a hostage because he was Prepared for that Situation
• He also mentioned the dilemma he dealt with of being told you are lucky and he said its because he was a prepared Man of Faith who has on the full armor of God
• He starts of his day reading Scripture and journals
• Andrew also surrounds himself with amazing supportive people

5. Author of The Disabled Father and Founding Parade Deck

• Andrew lost his mother and one of his sons earlier this year
• He wrote a book about his son who was born with Cerebral Palsy and he became a Single Father
• He felt sorry for himself because his son was not going to be able to have a "normal life" and Andrew felt like he was cheated
• God gave him a revelation one day that his son was not Disabled, but Andrew was the one who was
• These trials and tribulations that Andrew went through have him prepared him in becoming the Founder of Parade Deck, the Spotify for Military Podcasting and a community of 142M!
• He challenges each and everyone of us to not become comfortable in certain platforms that are like fishbowls, but instead of venture out to to connect with millions of other Veterans
