Alaska (AS)/Hawaiian (HA)

  • Started to swap airlines for certain routes and announced and filed new routes.
  • ANC to SEA from June 12 through August 20 Alaska reduced flights to four per day and added two Hawaiian A332 flights per day.
  • HNL to LAX from March 19 onward Alaska will no longer serve the route and Hawaiian will increase up to four flights per day.
  • HNL to PDX and SAN from June 12 onward Alaska will no longer serve the route and Hawaiian will increase up to three flights per day on each route.
  • HNL to SFO and SJC from March 19 onward Alaska will no longer serve the route and Hawaiian will serve each once daily.
  • KOA to LAX from June 12 onward Hawaiian will no longer serve the route and Alaska will serve the route once daily.
  • KOA to SFO will be restarted by Alaska from June onward. They last served the route in March 2020.
  • LAX to OGG from March onward will no longer be served by Alaska and will still have once daily flights on Hawaiian.
  • LIH to SFO will be new service on Alaska starting June 13.
  • OGG to PDX from June 12 onward will no longer be served by Hawaiian and Alaska will increase service to twice daily.
  • OGG to SFO and SJC from mid-March onward will no longer be served by Alaska and will keep once daily service on Hawaiian to each destination.

American (AA)

  • Resumed LAX to PIT with once daily service from April onward. They last served the market in February 2017. Congrats Team PIT!
  • Resumed GEG to ORD with once daily service from June onward. They last served the market in October 2021.
  • Added two college football bowl game flights: AUS to ATL for the Peach Bowl and MDT to PHX for the Fiesta Bowl.

Avelo (XP)

  • Filed and announced five new routes: BDL to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic (PUJ); HVN to DFW, DTW, JAX and PWM.
  • Suspended four routes from early January onward: LAL to ATL and BDL; BDL to HOU; and LAS to SLE.

Breeze (MX)

  • Announced and filed new twice-weekly service between PVU and SBD from February onward.

Frontier (F9)

  • Cancelled 69 routes in the month of April. 39 of these routes have no flights in future schedules. April capacity was reduced 13% week over week due to these cuts.
  • Frontier's schedule currently only runs through April 21.

Grand Canyon Airlines (YR)

  • Announced and filed new service from PHX to Safford, AZ (SAD). SAD won a $800,000 SCASD grant for new commercial air service to the region.

JetBlue (B6)

  • Announced and filed two new international routes: BOS to Edinburgh (EDI) and Madrid (MAD) starting in May.

Neos (NO)

  • Announced and filed new once weekly service to JFK from Bari, Italy (BRI) starting in June.

Play (OG)

  • Removed IAD to Reykjavik, Iceland (KEF) from future schedules. It was scheduled to return from March onward.

Southwest (WN)

  • Filed and announced 8 new or resumed routes starting in August: AUS to SFO; BNA to SDF; MCO to LAX, MIA, PBI, RSW and SRQ; and PHX to SBA.
  • Extended their schedule through October 1, 2025.
  • They filed three college football routes for 2025.

Spirit (NK)

  • Removed three routes from future schedules: BWI to TPA; and MCO to SLC and STL.
  • Suspended eight routes in various months in 2025.

United (UA)

  • Suspended China flights through October 24, 2025: Chengdu (CTU) to SFO; EWR to Hong Kong (HKG), Beijing (PEK) and Shanghai (PVG).
  • Removed all India flights (with the exception of DEL to EWR) from future schedules: Mumbai (BOM) to EWR; and Delhi (DEL) to ORD and SFO.
  • Exited DEN to LWS from February onward. This will be a station exit for United. Delta will be the only carrier serving the airport with flights to SLC and SEA.
  • Filed new twice-weekly service between Guam (GUM) and Taipei (TPE) starting in April.

Legacy Airline Station Exits

Looking at legacy airline station exits and the leader is United/SkyWest. There have been some recent changes in the past year where United and Delta have added service back in markets that they had left since 2020. United resumed two Essential Air Service (EAS) markets: EAR and EAU in November and December 2024 respectively. Delta resumed SBA in June 2024 and GJT in December 2024.
