For practitioners, generative AI has taken business to the next level by conducting automated research just by typing keywords, analyzing large-scale data or writing documents, and even generating coding and testing software.

The release of ChatGPT in November 2022 is considered one of the biggest developments in GenAI, as it changed how we interact with technologies.

In this way, generative AI has transformed our perception of smart machines overnight, but as with every innovation, it can be used for both good and bad.

We are all pretty aware that AI-powered attacks can be considered to be inherent and aim to explore vulnerabilities with a level of sophistication that can be a struggle for organizations that use laidback methods to combat cyberattacks.

While specific cyberattacks and circumstances will determine particular counseling, you can consider these top-line suggestions as a precautionary measure:

1. Be cautious when adopting chatbots and GenAI tools, especially when working with or on government commercial contracts.

2. Consider fostering policies stating and providing transparency on the dos and don'ts of such technologies when implementing them in your organization as a product or service.

3. Scrutinize these chatbot errors and instruct your team members to not depend on such technologies uncritically.

4. Carefully monitor and submit daily reports of the amount of data fed into the generative AI tools and software.

4. Implement AI-related detection systems that use machine learning algorithms to spot and alert you and your colleagues to potential dangers, such as adversarial instances.
