DEI & Skyhorse Publishing: Author Alan Dershowitz, His Divorce from Susan Barlach & Her Ensuing Suicide Under Manslaughter Laws

Another author of Skyhorse is Harvard, NYC ‘celebrity’ lawyer Alan Dershowitz. Amongst the many of Dershowitz’s books they have published are; War on Woke: Why the New McCarthyism Is More Dangerous Than the Old, (2024), Dershowitz on Killing How the Law Decides Who Shall Live Who Shall Die (2023), The Price of Principle: Why Integrity is Worth the Consequences (2022), The Case for Color-Blind Equality in an Age of Identity Politics (2021), The Case Against the New Censorship: Protecting Free Speech from Big Tech, Progressives and Universities (2021), Cancel Culture: The Latest Attack on Free Speech and Due Process (2020).

While Skyhorse publishing claims that Dershowitz is, 

one of the most prominent and consistent defenders of civil liberties in America” (Politico) and “the nation’s most peripatetic civil liberties lawyer and one of its most distinguished defenders of individual rights” (Newsweek)

However, he is the typical ivy-league, over-inflated ego product who was smart enough to memorize enough to make ‘straight-As’ in college and law school, and brown-nose his way into DC and NYC legal communities. He was also smart enough to know how to work the system, and become ‘popular’ with corporate controlled press outlets, so that he becomes a ‘favorite’ ‘gun for hire’ legal analyst in high profile cases involving celebrities, politicians, or other criminals. However, as explained in the BBC article, “Alan Dershowitz: A high-flying lawyer's unwanted publicity” by Anthony Zurcher, he is not the ‘brilliant’ lawyer as many contend,

Harvard Law Prof Charles R Nesson told the Harvard Crimson that Mr Dershowitz is "more of a streetfighter than a traditional academic". "He's not up to charm you," he added. "It's sort of like he doesn't take prisoners. When he's up against you, he's not pulling any punches, so you might come out of it feeling like you got pretty well knocked around. He's not above a personal attack."…

Polemicist Noam Chomsky, who has often sparred with Mr Dershowitz on Middle East issues, told an interviewer that Mr Dershowitz is "not very bright" and "basically a clown", often resorting to personal attacks." He knows that he can't respond to what I say," he said. "He doesn't have the knowledge or the competence to deal with the issues. Therefore, the idea is to try to shut it up by throwing as much slime as you can."

In a New York Times review of Mr Dershowtiz's 2013 memoir, Taking the Stand, Slate legal writer Dahlia Lithwick says that the lawyer's career "has been a natural experiment in the proposition that the cure for toxic speech is invariably more speech", although she points out that he has criticised Muslim protestors in the past.

Mr Dershowitz's views on the efficacy of state-authorised torture have also been a lightning rod of controversy. In January 2002 he wrote an opinion piece for the San Francisco Chronicle in which he recommended that the US government be allowed to torture terrorism suspects after obtaining a court order.

Furthermore, Dershowitz is the typical social climber from a middle-class Jewish, Irish, and Italian borough in NYC, who only dreamed of rubbing shoulders with the WASPs on ‘the Island’ and Upper East side Manhattan in his youth. He, like all the other ‘rags to riches’ Jews in the Fractured fairytale American Dream, has been ‘playing the race’ card in his ascent to power. If all of the Jews in power, descendants of victims of the German Holocaust or not, were REALLY concerned with preventing another Holocaust in the US, they would be supporting, promoting and implementing the work of Riane Eisler, and her Center for Partnership Systems. Apart from Noam Chomsky, Eisler is the ONLY, Jewish ‘big-wigs’ within academia, the legal profession, politics, Wall Street or Hollywood, who has not been singularly interested in Cashing In on the rise of the Fourth Reich in the US in the past 80 years.   

Dershowitz was one of Jeffrey Epstein’s friends, and accused by Viriginia Guiffre of being one of the men she was ‘trafficked’ to by Epstein. While Guiffre eventually retracted her allegations against him, another one she accused, Prince Andrew, was not so lucky. His career and good name were destroyed, and he was extorted of $12M in a financial settlement. The case against the Prince is just another amongst many in NY which exposes the extent to which lack of due process and politically motivated litigation in the state, has been normalized by an amoral and corrupt ruling-elite; as well as journalists and the press who get sucked into the witch hunt and slandering tactics being used by court actors.

Dershowitz has been one of the major actors in normalizing lack of due process and politicization of the courts during his high-profile career. While victims of the norms he had been creating are silenced and ignored by the press, those launching false accusations are given front page headlines in the press. While murders, rapists, pedophiles and other criminals are defended by lawyers under the contention that everyone has a Right to a fair trial. When victims of domestic violence are falsely accused of ‘mental disorders’ by their abusers, their lawyers, and the courts, do not believe that they have the same Rights as the criminals. The double standards of Dershowitz, in believing that violent men have Rights, whereas women and children have no Rights, exposes his abusive and tyrannical nature and character.     

While there is little doubt as to the sexually promiscuous and deviant lifestyle of Jeffrey Epstein, and many other ‘rich and powerful’ men in his networks. It is extremely hypocritical of NYC ‘high society’, courts, and press to criticize the lifestyle of Epstein and his ‘circle of friends’. NYC has been promoting and financially benefiting from a thriving Mandevillian economy run by whores, pimps, and con artists for generations. The exact same behavior that has so ‘scandalized’ the world in #MeToo cases, has been making lots of money for the press, authors, publishing houses, politicians, ‘charities’, and entertainment industries, etc. for several centuries.

Even if Dershowitz did not have sexual relations with Guiffre, that does not mean he did not have relations with other of Epstein’s ‘Sugar Babies’. Furthermore, what is ‘scandalous’ in the case of Dershowitz is not whether he slept with a bunch of whores and prostitutes. What is ‘scandalous’, but which has been ‘normalized’, was his treatment of his 1st wife during their marriage and divorce, which culminated with her suicide on New Years Eve in 1983 by jumping off a bridge in NYC. During my own divorce, my ex-husband promised me that I would be forced to prostitute myself and commit suicide if I ever left him. And, even though I have been beaten down by the bullies and psychopaths which populate DC for the past 15 years, and barely able to keep a roof over my head, I will not give any of my adversaries the satisfaction of committing suicide. Also, I will not abandon my sons to the psychopaths in the sick power games of the upper crust on both sides of the Pond.

Dershowitz Marriage amp; Divorce with 1st Wife Susan Barlach, Domestic Abuse, Divorce amp; Her Suicide

Dershowitz in his youth was a “rebellious student, often criticized by his teachers [and] was told to do something that requires a big mouth and no brain…so [he] became lawyer. He graduated from Brooklyn College in 1959, and married 19-year-old Sue Barlach, due to pressure from his parents to marry a Jewish girl before going away to Yale for law school. He had met Barlach several years prior at a summer camp they both attended. She became a stay-at-home mom, while he earned his degree, after which he launched his career as lawyer in DC’s courts, and then in NYC in private practice while serving as a Harvard professor.

Dershowitz ‘tired’ of her after he became one of the ‘in crowd’ amongst the ‘frat boy’ networks in the NYC. He became a regular at upscale bars and restaurants, with a string of girlfriends on his arm, while his wife was at home taking care of their sons. Apart from the physical evidence of abuse in the case, Dershowitz is ‘famous’ for defending men accused of exploitation and violence against women, namely Harry Reems, Klaus von Bulow, OJ Simpson, Jeffrey Epstein, Harvey Weinstein, and Donald Trump. Further evidence of Dershowitz abusive nature, and his hypocrisy between his rhetoric and actions is seen in the article, “Alan Dershowitz: My sex abuse accuser has hurt the 'Me Too' movement”

Dershowitz said Giuffre and her lawyer David Boies had done "a terrible disservice to a great movement, the 'Me Too' movement."

"The 'Me Too' movement relies on credible reports of sexual misconduct and when a woman and her lawyer make false allegations and falsely accuse people, it hurts not only the falsely accused person, me, but it hurts everybody who is a true victim of sexual abuse," Dershowitz said.

If Dershowitz were truly concerned about the damage that false accusation in #MeToo movement cases is creating for REAL victims, then he would not be ignoring me and my emails. Instead, he would be publicly supporting my denouncement of the lack of due process in the case against Prince Andrew. He would also be denouncing the ridiculous allegations of sexual ‘assault’ against Governor Andrew Cuomo, and how government agencies and court systems have been overrun by amoral party politicking ‘civil servants’.

The tactics Dershowitz and NYC courts utilized in revictimizing this poor defenseless woman, who was obviously abused by Dershowitz during their marriage, are typical even though they are highly illegal and violate the rights of litigants. Not only was evidence of abuse of Barlach covered up by the psychiatrist, Pierre Johannet, as an ‘expert’ witness. But the presiding judge, Haskell Freedman, colluded in defrauding her of ‘common property’ assets, thereby relegating her status to a ‘slave’ during her 14 years of marriage. Then in adding insult to injury, her children and assets were taken from her, she was awarded a ‘modest’ alimony for 5 years after her divorce, was ‘thrown out on the streets’ with nothing, and alienated from her sons. She was left to find a job with no college degree or assistance from her ‘family and friends’, who had sided with Dershowitz. As explained in the report, THE EVOLUTION OF EQUITABLE DISTRIBUTION IN NEW YORK by Brooke Grossman, the ‘equity’ laws that have been passed during the ‘having it all’ feminist movement, have NOT liberated women. Because implantation of these laws failed to recognize the non-renumerated work homemakers do during their marriage (due to misogyny against homemakers by lawyers and judges), and I quote,

In 1980, the New York State Legislature enacted Domestic Relations Law section 236 part B, which implemented equitable distribution as the means by which judges should distribute property upon divorce. One of the bill’s supporters hailed the legislation as achieving “the adaptation of law to current social values.” The new law sought to eradicate financial inequities suffered by divorcing women by distributing marital assets without regard to which spouse held title. Equitable distribution embraced the modern concept of marriage as an economic partnership and allowed wives to receive a share of the marital assets upon divorce because of their contributions as a homemaker.4 A New York Task Force Report on Women in the Courts six years later concluded that most judges implementing the law failed to award women an adequate share of the marital property.

The poor woman’s revictimization by the courts, alienation from her sons, and marginalization from society resulted in her suicide (as was the intention of Dershowitz). Tracy Schorn highlights the events in her article, “Alan Dershowitz Is Human Garbage,”

In 1973, he and Sue separated, after fourteen years of marriage, and she soon filed for divorce. The case went to court in early 1976, and the proceedings were acrimonious. In Judge Haskell Freedman’s lengthy findings of fact, he wrote that Dershowitz’s behavior toward Sue “negatively affected the plaintiff’s health to the extent that she required medical treatment and briefly some psychiatric therapy. ” (Dershowitz denies mistreating her, and his son Elon said that he witnessed no improper treatment.)

Sue had been given provisional custody of the children, but Dershowitz, represented by his friend Silverglate, was seeking sole custody. He brought in a psychiatrist named Pierre Johannet as an expert witness. At first, Johannet recommended joint custody. But in an appearance a month later he testified that he had changed his mind, after listening to tapes of phone conversations between Dershowitz and Sue. (Dershowitz has a long habit of recording calls, but says that he has no recollection of taping these.)

Judge Freedman, too, was influenced by the tapes. In the conversations, Sue addressed Dershowitz “in the most disparaging terms,” according to the findings. “She called him names over the telephone while the children listened.” The judge noted that Sue interfered with Dershowitz’s visits with the children and harshly insulted Jeanne Baker, who had become Dershowitz’s girlfriend. Freedman relied on testimony from a number of witnesses—including Sue’s sister, Marilyn, who by then was married to Dershowitz’s brother—that Dershowitz would do more to help the children adjust to the divorce. Freedman acknowledged that Johannet had reversed his position—but that, he wrote, merely proved that he was a “truly objective witness.” He awarded Dershowitz custody.

Dershowitz’s collaborators were Harvey Silverglate, a former student of his, who had a small firm in Boston, and Jeanne Baker, a law-school student who was a research assistant there. “Working together with these two extraordinary young lawyers,” he wrote, “made it clear to me how unhappy I was in my marriage.”

One of the common tactics of abusers during a divorce is to anger their victims into ‘exploding’ in a public setting or in a recording, which is then used as ‘evidence’ of ‘mental disorders’ in court proceeding. While this tape recording is evidence enough of the abusive nature of Dershowitz, the fact that he used his son by having him listen to the conversation of his distraught mother leaves no doubt. Inciting someone to ‘violence’ in order to use it against them in court proceeding is manufacturing evidence and illegal. Furthermore, tape recording a conversation without the other permission in a ‘private’ conversation is also illegal. Any judge who is ‘unaware’ of this tactic, as well as why Barlach would be angry and insulting to Dershowitz and his new girlfriend, Jeanne Baker, should be investigated by a judicial review board, as well as have his head examined by a COMPETENT psychiatrist.

Ample evidence exists as to Dershowitz extramarital affairs and neglect of his family, and that Barlach had legitimate reason to be angry. She may have used some words she should not have in expressing that anger, but it is hardly a reason to take a woman’s children and throw her on to the streets with nothing! The psychiatric community has been colluding with abusers (and mothers-in-law) to institutionalize women since the time of Sigmund Freud. One such case was Princess Alice of Greece the mother of Queen Elizabeth’s husband, Prince Philip. Her brother, Lord Mountbatten, surrogate father to King Charles, was a pedophile whose, ‘indiscretions’ were covered up by the British government and FBI. Domestic abuse in all of its forms have been omni-present amongst the upper crust and been swept under the carpet by everyone involved, for centuries. Abdicated Spanish King, Juan Carlos, shot and killed his younger brother, when he was 18, and his brother was 14 over petty jealousies and competition between the two. The murder was covered-up by the press and Royal family with the women making up a ‘magic bullet’ theory to avoid any ‘embarrassment’ or ‘unpleasantness’.

Furthermore, the psychiatrist in Dershowitz divorce was the founder of a suicide prevention program. Additionally, Dershowitz 2nd wife, Carolyn Cohen, is a professor at Harvard and co-authored a study published by its Department of Psychiatry. “The research team spent 12 years following 120 children and adolescents they defined as “high-risk.” The goal was to study how a person’s cognitive skills and deficits impacted their “psychopathology and recovery.” They also analyzed the young people’s mental health and risk for suicide as they transitioned into adulthood.” While men like Dershowitz, aided and abetted by the ‘law’, are producing suicide victims, ‘experts’ like his wife and psychiatrist friend are ‘analyzing’ and financially benefiting from those who are at ‘risk’!! Amongst the many podcasters I have contacted in efforts to expose the problems in the courts is Jordan Peterson and his wife Tammy Peterson, who has been covering 3rd Wave Feminism in her youtube podcast. Unfortunately, I never heard back from them, like other podcasters and their entourage of groupie ‘gate keepers’ which DEI hiring practices have empowering in labor markets, including Russell Brand and RFK, Jr. presidential campaign.  

Fabrication of Evidence in Divorce amp; Custody Cases as Criminal Offenses

One of the first times I observed the fabrication of evidence used, other than my own case in Spain, was in the divorce of Alec Baldwin from Kim Bassinger. He was recorded in a phone conversation verbally attacking his daughter as a “rude, thoughtless little pig,” which was of course illegally used against him in the press and court proceedings. As he correctly points out in his book, A Promise to Ourselves: A Journey Through Fatherhood and Divorce (2008),

the attorneys in the case [are] "opportunists", and [] psychologists as part of the "divorce industry"…. In his memoir, Baldwin stated that these issues placed stress on his relationship with his daughter. Baldwin wrote that he had to spend over a million dollars, put time aside from his career, travel extensively, and find a house in California, having previously lived in New York, in order to stay in his daughter's life.  During an interview with Playboy in June 2009, he stated that he contemplated suicide after the voicemail leaked to the public, but sought professional help. He stated that he felt Basinger would have considered it "a victory" if he committed suicide and that it was her "avowed goal" to destroy him. In late 2008, Baldwin toured in support of his book on fatherhood and divorce, speaking about his experiences related in it.

Baldwin is correct in his analysis of family courts, and the lawyers and mental health care ‘professionals’ involved. And, the consequences for the children who are used as pawns by the entire SICK system are highlighted in an interview with his daughter, “Ireland Baldwin Opens Up About Her Abortion,”

The model told fans she wanted to share her story “because I want other women to feel supported and loved whether they want to share their own or not.”

Baldwin began by revealing that she was raped while “completely unconscious” when she was a teenager. Although she didn’t become pregnant, “it changed the course of the rest of my life,” she said, adding that she didn’t tell anyone for years. “I spiraled, I lost control of my life. I drank a lot more, I partied a lot more, I self-medicated, I was in other abusive and toxic relationships and friendships,” she explained, describing the emotional and physical toll the experience had on her. “Seeing so many other brave women share their stories got me thinking what my life would have been like if I had become pregnant and if I had to raise a baby during everything I was going through at the time.” Baldwin recognized that she had “medical resources, money, and support,” but notes that the hypothetical “would have simply been traumatizing and impossible” even for someone with her privilege.

Baldwin then described an instance when she did get pregnant with a boyfriend: “At that point in time, I would say we were very unhappy together, and he made it pretty clear that he never wanted kids or marriage. He barely wanted to be in a serious relationship.” She said she decided to have an abortion “because I know exactly what it felt like to be born to two people who hated each other.”

Baldwin was recently in the news for calling Amber Heard “manipulative” and a “terrible person” amid her defamation trial against Johnny Depp after audio surfaced of Heard admitting she had hit her then-husband. She commented on the recording in an Instagram Story, accusing Heard of using her “womanhood to play victim” and insisting that “men can experience abuse too.” She later told her Instagram followers in a Q&A that she regretted weighing in on the trial. “I regret chiming in about the whole thing because the reality of it is that it’s all very sad. And I feel bad in different ways for the both of them,” she wrote in her stories. “I was trying to [be] clear that men can be abused as well and anyone who thinks differently is an idiot.”

As seen in the case studies above the ONLY people that family court systems benefit are abusers (in this case Bassinger), and scumbag lawyers, judges, and mental health care ‘professionals who are using litigants and the courts to profit from the entire MESS financially and politically! These are NOT victimless crimes. But, serious criminal offenses, and their pervasiveness and normalization, along with the dire consequences for victims, elevates them to Crimes Against Humanity. It is unfortunate that Alec Baldwin became yet another victim of family courts who has written a ‘tell all’ book about the problems. But, instead of using his celebrity status to become involved in challenging the issues, and COMMANDING ACTION from politicians, he ‘moved on’ while the number of casualties has escalated in interim years.
