Destiny: It's High Time To Heal Healers
In Tony Robbins' "Date With Destiny" this week, I am becoming super clear about my function. Since I arrived on Earth more than 6 decades ago, I have been deeply interested in being a healer of some sort. I have succeeded in pursuing that vision relentlessly and tenaciously, but have often found myself looking in what I eventually determined were all the wrong places.
Today, I am firmly convinced that I have finally found a foothold, a purpose, and a niche that works for me. In this, I can take all of my travels, explorations, education, experiences, occupations, and opportunities forward and finally utilize the healing gift that I have been destined to provide for my whole life.
The road has not been easy and I admittedly have made mistakes and been impatient at times. I followed the leads I was given and my intuition and with the help of some very fortunate connections, circumstances and decisions, I have been a mental health care provider for nearly 43 years, in truly countless capacities. I have appreciated every one to some degree, but not enough to stay too long. Some jobs were designed as temporary and others, I simply outlived. I learned many incredible things along the way and put them into my repertoire before eventually packing my bags and moving on to the next position.
Here's my real truth. Each position did not fill a few of my basic needs and some were simply outright unacceptable. I was often asked to do things that flew directly against my better judgment and in fact, my better judgment was often not even welcome in basic conversation.
As psychiatrists, we have been typecast into being medication providers and our communication skills became less emphasized and were only used to sift out buzzwords so that we could make "proper" diagnoses and on the heels of that, make "proper" psychopharmacological decisions. In the last couple of decades, if communication was to be the primary form of treatment for a particular patient or client, that would be left for one of the mental health ancillary staff or subdisciplines. In other words, only when communication was no longer felt to be the healing mode of choice would a referral to psychiatric services be appropriate or considered.
Given that I went into the field initially so that I could turn the tide on medicating people who had psychological discomfort or dis-ease, this slow squeezing out of the human connection component of modern psychiatry and the suffocation that I experienced as a result of its elimination, made the field intolerable for me.
Eventually, I backed out of the conventional field entirely. As an important disclaimer, if patients reading this are comfortable in the field with the diagnoses that they have and the treatment that they are receiving, I honor that and emphasize that that is wonderful and if satisfaction is being experienced, no change in clinical course is recommended.
In these challenging times, I am finding that mental health clinicians and healthcare providers, in general, are leaving or being forced to leave their positions in the medical/healthcare/mental health industries in record numbers. These providers are often disoriented and I now find myself eager, willing, and capable of guiding these wonderful people to their next aligned position where their passions can be discovered or uncovered, within or outside of the system, and promoting that authenticity and supporting that these open gates might represent the gift in life that they have been waiting for. I love clinicians and I love healing and this new position allows me to do both.
I heal healers.
To be true to our core selves, some assistance and guidance can be very helpful and that is the impetus for the creation of my newest entity, True Voice Course which also comes with a Mastermind and an exclusive group of like-minded individuals eager to reclaim their healing aptitudes and find places where they are welcome and deeply appreciated.
Healing is called for more than ever. Healing of injured or confused healers is also critical so that the very best skills and gifts are naturally brought forward into the brave and noble efforts to optimize the troubled lives of both the healers and their clients desperately looking for their services.

2yJust as I read this experience with Tony Robbins, he's mentioned on a Gabor Máté interview talking about depression. You are clear with your destiny and may the synchronicity and good luck never end...
