Dextrans Worldwide Malaysia, Singapore and Cambodia Are Busy!
Starting off 2024 with several oversize shipments executed by various Dextrans’ offices namely in Malaysia, Singapore and Cambodia.
The first one involving delivery and shipment of 6 units of oversized wire reels measuring 3.300m(L) x 3.6m(W) x 3.6m(H) 56660 KGS from Pasir Gudang to Shanghai via Singapore.
The cargo was delivered by road to Singapore Port to connect onto the mother vessel and this operation involved careful planning and close coordination between various parties e.g. traffic & customs authorities to ensure the cargo was delivered and loaded with clock -like precision.
Across the Straits, another team was executing receiving pipes from Batam, Indonesia and loading onto the vessel.
The cargo consisting of 100 pieces of pipes of 12 meter length x diameter 0.7 meter and weighing 3,000 kgs were delivered by barge from Batam to Singapore. Dextrans Singapore then chartered a vessel to bring the cargo to the final destination at Diliskeles Port in Turkey.
Faced with looming wet weather and the possible disruption to the loading operation, smooth coordination and round the clock operation by the ground team was pivotal to ensure the cargo was expeditiously loaded, stowed, and lashed onto the vessel.
Over to the Gulf of Thailand, Dextrans Cambodia successfully loaded a delicate and expensive piece of aircraft which is a helicopter body measuring L - 11.45m X W 2.15m x 3.5m and weighing at 3,000 kgs. This cargo was stowed onto a 40’ flat rack container and shipped to Lagos, Nigeria.
The operation involved lifting the cargo, stowing, and carefully lashing onto the flat rack with subsequent delivery by road to Sihanoukville Port covering a distance of 220 km. Cargo arrived safely at the port and connected onto the mother vessel in a timely manner.
