To ensure a safe and reliable cyberspace for every Filipino, the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) calls on all stakeholders, advocates, and concerned citizens to provide their inputs, comments, and suggestions on the draft National Cybersecurity Strategy (NCS) 2023-2028.
The public consultation on the draft NCSP 2023-2028, which can be accessed here: [https://dict.gov.ph/.../Draft-NCSP-2028-Public-Comments.pdf], seeks to strengthen the final version of the NCSP 2023-2028 which is set to be released before the end of 2023. All concerned may send their inputs and recommendations to the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Cybersecurity and Upskilling through email at oascu@dict.gov.ph, with their name and affiliation following the email subject format “NAME/AGENCY_COMMENTS for the NCSP 2023-2028”.
The draft NCS 2023-2028 focuses on six (6) pillars, namely: (1) enactment of the “Cybersecurity Act” to strengthen the policy framework; (2) secure and protect Critical Information Infrastructures (CII); (3) proactively defend government and people in cyberspace; (4) operational and well-coordinated network of Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT) and SOC; (5) capacitate workforce in cybersecurity; and (6) enhancing international cooperation.
DICT Secretary Ivan John E. Uy underscored the need for collective action of all concerned stakeholders to achieve a trusted, resilient, and secure cyberspace for Filipinos.
“The NCS 2023-2028 shows the importance of convergence among all government agencies in delivering our mission. It outlines steps on how each government agency can coordinate all their cybersecurity initiatives through the National Cybersecurity Inter-Agency Committee (NCIAC). It also harmonizes all organization CERT and defined two national-level CERTs,” Secretary Uy said.
