Different Approach

Everyone must have started their new year with big resolutions and big dreams, thinking of what to achieve this year. Some might have joined Gym aiming for a better physique, while others might have some professional goals to achieve. I wasn't different from everyone else but year after year I failed to achieve 100% of my new year's resolution. So at the beginning of the year, I was surrounded by questions pertaining to self-doubt. I knew I have to come with a different approach to overcome these questions and to achieve a lot this year. So, this year instead of making one big primary goal I came up with small goals all together leading to the foundation of a strong personality - Socially and Professionally. So here's my 2 months report card:

1) At the beginning of the year, I joined french classes. Within 2 months I cleared my A1 french level. Maintenant, je suis très à l'aise avec mon environnement. Je peux comprendre un peu français et je peux parle au peu français. Apprendre une nouvelle langue ouvre la porte du succès. Ce n'est pas toujour facile mais ca en raut toujour le peine.

2) I took an online course to learn a new programming language - Scala and I think I was able to make a strong base in functional programming. Also, I started working with Spark which is a unified analytics engine for big data processing. In short after struggling with my programming skills for the past one year, I came back in the game.

3) I met a lot of new people and at the same time removed the toxic people from my life. Both were equally important to move forward in life. I made new friends from Canada, USA, Iran, Egypt, Syria, Philipines and of course India while going to french school. This helped me a lot to learn about different cultures and people.

4) I got back to reading books, articles anything that could teach me something. For the past year, I was struggling with my life in Canada. As a result, I found it difficult to manage time and devote adequate time to reading and writing. I knew I was losing a lot. So from this year, I decided to give at least 30 mins per day to reading and I am keeping up with that habit.

I might not have achieved so much in the past 2 months but the struggle to manage time and learn something new each day is making life so interesting and thrilling. I am trying my best to channelize every bit of my energy to make the best of every moment. I have leant a lot from this platform by following a lot of influential people and will try my best to give back to society in the form of knowledge I gained from this amazing platform. There’s nothing bigger than positively influencing the world around us.
