Become a Digital Enterprise
The industrial world is facing rapidly changing challenges. Our resources are finite, and we all need to do more with less. Digitalization is the game changer to meet these challenges on the way to Industry 4.0. It is essential to collect, understand and use the massive amount of data created in the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT). A Digital Enterprise can do this by combining the real and the digital worlds. As a result, the infinite amount of data allows us to use our resources efficiently and with that make industry more sustainable.
Why choose us to help you transform into a Digital Enterprise? At Siemens, we walk the walk. We are also a manufacturer and equip our plants with our latest automation and digitalization solutions. You as a customer benefit from our know-how, not only from our work with other customers, but also from what we prove every day in our own business. For this we are excited to show you how we use our expertise and digital tools to digitalize our very own factory in Bad Neustadt, Germany.
Digitalization makes an existing factory more competitive
Becoming a Digital Enterprise does not mean having to redo everything or build a new plant. Quite the contrary, our electric motor factory in Bad Neustadt demonstrates how an existing factory is digitalized and optimized step by step. The result ensures competitiveness and can be experienced live by customers in the Arena of Digitalization.
Digital transformation with people and technology
Our factory in Bad Neustadt is the lead factory for the production of synchronous, main, and asynchronous motors. The transformation into a Digital Enterprise was implemented to better meet customer requirements: short and reliable delivery times, greater flexibility, and more sustainable production. This has only been possible through digital transformation – with the help of purposefully deployed technology, on the one hand, and by training employees and integrating them closely into the new processes, on the other.

People as the drivers of digitalization
The digital transformation of our plant is based on use cases that were primarily driven by the production staff. Their expertise ensures that the relevant data from the machines can be captured, understood, and evaluated.
Therefore, vertical integration does not only take place on a technical level, with data flowing from the shop floor to the top floor. Rather, those involved in production and management work closely together and share their knowledge so that everyone involved can work with consistent data and make the right decisions.

If you cannot wait until the next issue, learn more from inspiring stories about real-world Digital Enterprise examples in Industry Stories or tune into Talking Digital Industries – The podcast for technologies and trends that drive industrial enterprises.
One suggestion I have for the newsletter is to provide more specific examples or case studies of how these solutions have been implemented in real-world scenarios. This would help readers better understand the practical applications of these technologies and how they can benefit their own businesses.
