1 | Dexcom and ŌURA announce strategic partnership to integrate glucose monitoring with Oura’s health tracking ring
Dexcom, a glucose-monitoring specialist, has made a strategic investment in Oura, a health-tracking ring maker. By contributing to Oura’s Series D funding round and bringing its overall valuation to over $5 billion, Dexcom has enabled two-way data flow between its continuous glucose monitor and Oura Ring’s health tracking features. Integration is projected to launch in the first half of 2025, bringing more personalized health insights to users.
Naitive Technologies has partnered with Parvizi Surgical Innovation to advance the development and clinical deployment of OsteoSight, a tool for osteoporosis detection. OsteoSight uses AI to scan through routine X-rays for evidence of low bone mineral density, a precursor to osteoporosis, and can help orthopedic surgeons identify and address osteoporosis at an early stage. This collaboration aims to expedite the validation and implementation of OsteoSight within clinical settings, making it more accessible to those with undiagnosed osteoporosis.
Informatics / Healthcare IT Solutions
Rula has announced a new collaboration with Amazon Health Services aimed at improving access to affordable mental healthcare. Rula has a network of mental health providers nationwide, which patients can now access through Amazon’s Health Conditions Program. The platform utilizes matching capabilities to connect patients with the right providers and minimize wait time, and seeks to address gaps in mental healthcare access.
The funding will support Practice Better's market expansion, product development, and integration of AI-driven features to meet growing demand for digital healthcare solutions. The platform streamlines administrative tasks like scheduling, Telehealth, and billing, enabling practitioners to focus on client care and scale their impact. Leaders from both organizations emphasized the partnership’s role in advancing Practice Better's mission to empower practitioners and redefine health tech, particularly as the industry shifts toward digital-first solutions.
Women’s Health / Femtech
OncoGenomX, a Swiss breast cancer startup, has announced a research collaboration with the two Veterans Affairs Medical Centers to test its clinical decision support platform, PredictionStar. This platform aims to personalize cancer treatment for women with breast cancer by providing a comprehensive analysis of tumor-specific data, including genomic and proteomic information. By comparing PredictionStar projected outcomes with actual patient results, the study seeks to optimize the platform's performance and ensure its effectiveness in real-world clinical settings.
Alife Health, a software and AI developer building tools for in-vitro fertilization, has partnered with US Fertility to pilot its Embryo Assist software. This new technology integrates with laboratory microscopes to streamline embryo cataloging, enhance quality control, and provide real-time lab updates, enabling data-driven decision-making. The collaboration aims to improve laboratory efficiency and offer patients greater transparency into embryology processes.
