  • A Microsoft outage, caused by an update to CrowdStrike's Falcon software, has disrupted healthcare services worldwide. CrowdStrike CEO George Kurtz apologized, assuring that it's not a cyberattack. The UK pharmacists and US hospitals, like Brigham and Women's, faced significant challenges, reverting to paper records.   • The European Commission's 'Digital Decade 2024: eHealth Indicator Study' assesses patient access to electronic health records in 29 countries. The report classifies the 27 EU Member States, Norway and Iceland into four categories: beginners, followers, fast-trackers and trendsetters. Each country's status is summarized based on various e-health indicators like access to health data and personal health records. Read more. 

  • The WHO European Region has launched the Strategic Partners' Initiative for Data and Digital Health (SPI-DDH), a network involving 53 WHO Member States and key partners. It aims to improve health data interoperability, equitable digital health access and public trust in digital solutions. It focuses on accelerating digital health capacity, utilizing AI, promoting home-based care and establishing interoperability standards. Read more.
