A Divine Visitation Missed by Most!

From the beginning of Creation to this very day, there has never been an event as huge or catastrophic as the Birth of Jesus Christ. John puts it this way “God became flesh and dwelt among us.” But what is more unbelievable is that millions that were alive at that time and even up to this day, refuse to see what happened and how they can reconcile to that event that changed human history forever. The ruler of this world – Satan, has blinded the eyes of millions so that they would not accept Christ, but that they would outright reject Him as Lord, Savior, and God. People make ludicrous statements about who God ought to be and how God can show His power and might, but that does not make God who God is. God is who He says He is!

John 1:11-13 “He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.”

This is why, one of the towering needs in the lives of people today is that they want to see a visible impact of God on situations in this world, like fire coming down from heaven and burning up the sacrifice before human eyes. Or the desolation of an incomplete tower left to decay in Babel. Or maybe a woman that turned into a pillar of salt on the outskirts of Sodom and Gomorrah. Or better still maybe a waterway amid a river or the sea that proves that God is alive and still in control. Believe me, even if God demonstrated Himself through some signs like these, people would still be skeptical and rebel against Him. When I speak of a visitation of God, I am talking about the God of the universe breaking into history to change the destiny of people by either blessing or punishing them.

God visited our world some 2000 years ago in the person of Christ Jesus. He was born in a stable of a virgin birth, the grew in the grace of God and at the age of 30 he began His ministry and a few years later, He was ready to die for all those He interacted with and those He related to from the very inception of this world. While we were all strangers to Him, He was never a stranger to us, because He made us with the tiniest detail that makes us peculiar and special as individuals. He was rejected by the Jewish community and the religious leaders of His day and handed over to the Roman authorities to be put to death. His crime – blasphemy! Claiming to be God! What those people did not realize is that it is not blasphemy if you truly are God! It is the truth! On the third day, He arose from the dead and was seen by many, apart from the disciples and those closely connected with Him.

Forty days later, He ascended into heaven, where He takes His place at the right hand of the Father. He is there right now, interceding on our behalf. His work will not be done until we are reunited with Him forever more. It is one thing for those 2000 years ago to have missed out on a Divine Visitation since they had limited knowledge and probably many were also ignorant of what was to take place. Those in religious leadership did not bother to do their due diligence and lost out on the most important visitation possible. They we can probably excuse for one reason or another, but what is your excuse for not accepting and believing in Christ Jesus today with all the evidence, proof, transformation of lives, and the opportunity that you must come to Him today. Scripture tells us that “Unto whom much is given, much will also be required…” Don’t miss out like those who did before you!
