Do we continue to hold faith in peace and resolutions? The upcoming Global Refugee Forum 2023 might offer pathways to future solutions.

Do we continue to hold faith in peace and resolutions? The upcoming Global Refugee Forum 2023 might offer pathways to future solutions.

As we approach the Global #RefugeeForum 2023, my anticipation is not only centered on addressing the challenges but also on being part of the solutions. The main challenge lies not just in acknowledging the issues faced by stateless individuals and refugees, but in finding impactful, innovative, and up-to-date ideas to address these challenges.

The Forum, occurring every four years, serves as a pivotal moment to address the pressing issues outlined in the Global Compact on Refugees.

And if you are asking: What is the Global Refugee Forum? The best way to explain it is here.

I am honored to serve as a #moderator, #panelist, #speaker, and attendee in different panels. Particularly on the topic of #connectivity. In today's digital age, connectivity is not just a technological advancement; it's a lifeline for refugees and stateless individuals. I will be exploring how we can make connectivity available for all, ensuring that no one is left behind in this interconnected world.

This forum goes beyond #discussions on #statelessness; it is a platform to explore #innovation and its #socialimpact. We need forward-thinking solutions that resonate with the #community, solutions that consider the unique stories and struggles of each individual. It's about fostering a sense of shared humanity and bringing forth ideas that can create lasting change. It is a very important opportunity for me to contribute to solutions, share good practices, and address the complexities that lie ahead.

For me, the 180 pages of participants underscore the collective commitment to making a positive impact. We have many refugee experts and advisors themselves as an important part of this event to be heard and part of the solution table.

Having been a refugee myself, arriving in Brazil filled with hope and dreams, participating in an event of this magnitude is both a privilege and proof of the progress made.

The participation of diverse voices, each with its unique perspective, is crucial in shaping these solutions. The Forum is an arena to bring attention to the multifaceted challenges we face, especially in a world marked by infinite war, conflicts, and displacement.

Reflecting on the IBELONG campaign's launch in 2014, I saw it as a beacon of hope and a call to action. Little did I know that years later, I would be Brazilian, and actively involved as part of the Brazilian delegation and forcibly displaced and stateless experts’ team, attending, moderating, and speaking at this significant event. It's a dream realized for the once-vulnerable individual who is now honored to contribute to shaping future plans and initiatives for others.

To those in #Geneva for the Forum, reach out—I would love to connect and explore avenues for collaboration. For those interested in attending my sessions, check the schedule and join the dialogue. Beyond the labels of statelessness and refugee status, it's about recognizing the shared humanity that unites us and the innovation in the ideas brought to the table.

Wish me LUCK!

I would like to suggest to you collaboration with Kusala Institute, it seeks to support the refugees learning languages, so they can integrate into the society easily.
