Do You Forgive?

Do You Forgive?

Do you forgive?

We've all been in the position when someone in our life has wronged us, whether it's in our business, work or our personal life.

Usually we feel anger, humiliation, rage, and many other emotions that we usually react to.

We've all heard about how business partners have walked away from a good business, tradesmen have stopped partway through a project and lovers who have shredded their other half's clothes.

All because they have felt they'd been wronged by another persons action.

The last thing on anyone's mind at these times is to forgive the other person, more than that, they want to get even, and inflict the same sort of pain that they are feeling.

However, does all that pain, anger, and rage really need to be kept in.

And does it serve you?

With all the pain and hurt that we feel, is it good to keep hold of it or would it be better to let it go?

The important thing about forgiveness is that it releases you.

You may not think that at the time, but it is an important part of taking responsibility for yourself.

Now, there is a difference between forgiving and forgetting them, even though we should forgive.

We should be mindful not to forget what has happened as this is part of who we are and how we got to where we are at this point in our life.

It is only when we're able to let go of what has happened and have the ability to forgive that we can be truly free in our life to be empowered and confident.

I can actually speak from experience here as I have been in positions where I've been wronged and held that grudge for many years

I thought it served me as it was part of what and who I was.

But it was when I started to see that it was not serving me my life that was able to investigate and look into what had happened.

Allowing me to become rational and understanding, able to find a positive in what had happened.

Being able to forgive and get on with my life, not forget, as I now see it was an opportunity to learn more about who I am.

It is only when I was able to forgive, to let go of the anger, pain and hurt, was I able to see that it did not serve me at all and only acted as an anchor to keep me in the past.

Being able to forgive you're able to heal those emotional wounds that have usually festered for so long.

Forgiveness is not about excusing another person's actions or that you should still not have feelings about the situation.

It does not mean that everything will be okay with the relationship or that person has to be included in your life.

You don't have to tell them they are forgiven as for giving someone is not something that you do for them, but it is something that you do for yourself.

By forgiving, we accept the reality of what has happened, it is usually something that takes time and it is our way of finding a resolution to something that is not serving us.

Remember, forgiveness is all about you.

I hope you found this insightful and useful.
