Do You Make These Mistakes When Promoting Your Business?

Do You Make These Mistakes When Promoting Your Business?

Do you know some business owners who rush into business thinking it will be easy to run, but very soon they realize that it is not as easy as it looks?

Do you know that a successful business is a finely tuned machine? This means in order to keep your business running smoothly it is important to avoid making mistakes repeatedly.

Let me be clear, it's natural to make mistakes. No one is perfect. In fact, I made a lot of mistakes too during the early stage of my business

The key is not to make the same mistake again because it means you have yet to learn the lesson, as suggested by all my mentors!

Common Mistakes Others Make But You Can Avoid

1. Not Having Clear Objectives

T Harv Eker, the creator of the famous workshop Millionaire Mind Intensive, said "Most people don't get what they want because they don't know what they want."

If you start a business without any clear objective, you will fail to set realistic goals for your marketing and consequently set you up for failure.

Are you tracking with me?

That's why I shared with my students in my workshop

"Clarity does not lead to Power. Clarity actually leads to ACTION!"

Therefore, it's important to make a list of goals and objectives based on a periodic timeline (whether you choose to be half-yearly or quarterly).

If you do not have any business goals and objectives, imagine you are like a car driving without a road map.

If you have employees working with you, make sure they are briefed on business objectives and understand them. Imagine they are not properly briefed, you won't be to achieve business objectives.

2. Neglecting to Analyse your Potential Customers

This mistake alone can make a business close down pretty quickly.

When you don't analyze your customers' wants and needs, you don't know what products and services to develop for them.

There is a risk that you will target the wrong market and neglect to understand your own niche market.

Do you agree that it's important for you to do your marketing analysis so that you can target your right market and thus, maximizing your sales and profits?

3. Not Enough Testing

Marketing is all about testing so that you can find out if a particular strategy generates the results you want.

What if you don't do enough testing on your sales copy?

You will be losing sales ...

In fact, you should even consider doing a lot of split-testing because it's simple to do even though personally, I know many businesses don't do this.

Do you want to waste more time and effort to produce zero results? I hope it's a "No".

So, why wouldn't you test your sales copy and marketing promotions so that you have a proper idea of the copy and promotions that are pulling and what's not working?

All you need to do is to place 2 different copies for the same product on your website and you can see which one is performing the best.

4. No Budgeting

Budgeting is the lifeblood of a business.

In other words, your business should never run out of money. This is especially true with your marketing and advertising ventures.

It is important to have a monthly or quarterly budget for your marketing effort.

Within that budget, put aside money for each promotion you will be doing.

Start small to test. When you see satisfactory ROI, scale your campaign and increase your budget.

This will allow you to always stay solvent and have enough for promotions.

5 Give Up Too Soon

Do you agree that entrepreneurs go out of business at an alarming rate these days?

It's easy to start a business. But ...

It's also easy to close shop!

One of the reasons is that the entrepreneurs give up too soon when they experience something that's not working.

Just when success might be around the corner ... they give up and decide to close shop! Do you see this happen to your friends or your associates who are also business owners?

In exactly the same fashion marketing promotions can fail. You need to give your promotions some time before you decide to scrap them.

Some promotions will take longer than others to bring results.

As always, test all marketing tactics before you launch a larger promotion.

Patience is one of the hallmarks of business and you need to implement it.

6. Poor Sales Copy

How often have you wanted a product but when you read the sales page you had serious doubts?

Poor unprofessional sales copy will cost you sales. In fact, without good sales copy you will not be able to sell effectively at all. It is critical for your business to get this right.

If necessary get an experienced copywriter to do this.

It is worth the investment, as you will see returns when you make sales.

7. Not Screening Your Employees Carefully

To handle the extra load for the festive season, you will need to hire new employees.

It is very important not to rush into this.

There is no dearth of people needing employment but you need to screen them carefully before hiring.

One rude customer service agent can cost you customers. Do not take this type of risk. You want to preserve the integrity of your business at all times and screening employees is the way to achieve this.

You will then be able to build a core of loyal professional employees that will be an asset to the business.

Take Your Business to Success You Deserve ...

By avoiding these mistakes you will take your business to the success you deserve.

You will be able to have year-round success for your business and really be able to cash in the long run.

So plan ahead and be careful not to make these common mistakes.
