Do you mark your career milestones?

Do you mark your career milestones?

Hello lovely,

It’s called Mad March for a reason!

Such a long month and SO many amazing things happened too. How’s it been for you? After a very quiet February, on the sales and finance front, it was nice to get the flow and momentum back in my business in March. There were also events galore to attend, host and speak at!

But I can’t go past the huge career milestone of returning to my university, UTS, and speaking for the UTS Young Alumni program about the Alternate Career Path. I was a bit of an anxious mess the days leading up to it, knowing what it meant to me and also the reflection of my 14.5 year business journey. It was, however, extremely well received and I was floating on cloud 9 after seeing that my story could help other people in their own lives.

My message, as you may have learned by now, is to live a life you love. I do this by running my business and travelling the world, while making time for my own self care. Lots of important lessons came up even around preparing this speech and reminders of why that last bit is so important. And it’s why I’m so passionate about my rest and receive retreats, the latest of which I’ve just launched!!

I’ll be getting a video up on my site soon and across socials from the night, but in the meantime, here’s a post with some photos from the fab UTS Alumni team.

The March highlights:

  • International Women’s Day! It felt like a public holiday and I got to celebrate it with 5 amazing colleagues who I now consider friends. Followed by attending Lise & Sarah’s Disco Club! It felt like such a day of celebration and amazing feminine energy.
  • 12 March - Shelly Horton hosted her first Group Workshop for Speak with Impact and I was proud to support her. After doing my own training the week before, it was wonderful to see how these women shone in such a short time. See the day here. We also had another one on 22 March and it was fab. There’s now just 1 spot for next Friday left, 12 April. Will you be there?
  • Business Chicks held their IWD breakfast in Brisbane and again, I got to be surrounded by amazing women who I’ve connected with over the years and who I now call dear friends. We even blocked out the day to have lunch and keep the good vibes going. Did you make time to celebrate?
  • 21 March - my UTS talk! A day I’ll always remember! More to come.
  • Officially announced … I’m writing a book! It’s called The Art of Bleisure - and it’s all about what the talk at UTS was based on, how I run my business and travel the world. Combining business and leisure, and how you can make it work for me. I’m writing it … it’s happening … Book Launch Party dates coming soon and …. Pre sales!
  • I hosted the Business Chicks member meetup again this month.I love getting to host these sessions on behalf of Business Chicks so if you are a member make sure to join us for future ones see all events.
  • It was a Business Chicks kind of month - with 7 IWD events across the country, I ended up helping out on just two this time. Attending my local Gold Coast event on 26th March and feeling all the good vibes. I love the community I’m gathering here and seeing so many wonderful faces. See my experience here.

A great post, I didn't realise that marking your career milestones can boost your motivation and confidence. Taking a moment to acknowledge your accomplishments, whether it's landing a promotion, mastering a new skill or hosting amazing retreats a billion miles away, can give you a much-needed confidence boost. It helps to see how far you've come and motivates you to keep striving for your goals. Celebrating these milestones can also boost morale and create positive opportunities. I've started to see that reflecting on your milestones can help you identify what you're good at and what you enjoy! I love how you have refined your career goals and how you take us on a journey with your future plans. Well done Emma :)
