Do you really feel that adding more KPIs will accelerate the development of your company?

In reality the improvements through Management by Objectives have long since diminished, and these days the same goals keep reappearing again and again, year after year, as it is no longer visible, clear, or logical what goals had stimulated what activities. A system based on demands makes it extremely difficult to find KPIs, to drive the most important competitive advantages of today like cross-functional cooperation, creativity, culture, or customer proximity. In many cases this work method of pushing demands carries on due to the lack of alternatives. Few people claim that a challenging target that is set high is an excellent way of guaranteeing that a top-class solution can be worked through in order to deal with the obstacles of reaching it. It is time for an alternative - solution oriented leadership based on the fact that people really want to understand, participate and contribute to the future success of their company.
