Does your Profile Photo Look like You?

I recently changed my profile photo.

My previous profile photo was taken in 2021 and I decided it was time for a new one.

Does your LinkedIn profile photo look like you?

When did you change your profile photo?

Is it set to public?

A study by LinkedIn showed that users with profile photos received 20x more profile views...

  1. Adding a profile photo increases the credibility of your profile as it allows people to see who you are when you send invitations to connect, post content, comment on posts, register on the LinkedIn event page or participate in a LinkedIn live or audio event.
  2. People are more like to engage with or accept your connection requests if who have a profile photo.
  3. Some LinkedIn users filter search results to display profiles with photos. By having a photo, you increase the chances of your profile appearing in relevant searches, improving your discoverability.
  4. A photo humanizes your profile and makes it more approachable. It's a chance to showcase your personality, helping you stand out in a sea of profiles.

If it's time for a new profile photo

📸 Use a recent photo of yourself

📷 Be the only person in the photo

🎞️ Use a neutral or solid color background

👩⚕️ Make sure your face takes up at least 60 % of the frame.

🤳Avoid using selfies

It's not credible if you don't stand up for yourself. An authentic profile photo is particularly important and shows honesty and authenticity.
