This month I've been sharing the insights, expertise and knowledge of business owners and entrepreneurs across the country with a series of live, in-person events, in the UK's top two leading university cities!
Oxford Brookes welcomed me to join their Investor Panel 2024. I was invited to sit on 1 of 11 panels presented with 54 business pitches from the 2024 final year business students. Seeing firsthand the future of British business from these talented young people, I was reminded of all the skills, knowledge and hard work that SME's and family businesses demonstrate to compete in the world of e-commerce, especially on Amazon.
A highlight of the event was my own niece presenting her final year project (not to me - nepotism may have been an issue there!) and celebrating with her, on her last official day at university. She's one of the students in the above photo.
It was then my turn to host, as I welcomed business leaders from across Oxfordshire to Come Dine with Me at the beautifully situated Trout Inn. Conversation flowed over dinner with much discussion around the opportunities and challenges of leading a business through uncertain times.
Topping off a busy week, I also hosted a seminar for CEO's and Amazon managers in Cambridge. Over the morning, attendees shared meaningful and relevant conversations. All businesses shared the challenges around growing profitably on Amazon, the need for in-house Amazon teams to get relevant training and the right Amazon management tools to obtain profitable growth.
