The Dog's Promise

The Dog's Promise

We walk in the door and every single time, no matter if we've been gone all day or 6 minutes, it is CELEBRATION TIME!!!

The dog can't help but lose her mind, she is so excited to see us, jumping, licking, barking, spinning. Sometimes a little pee comes out. She can't help it, the excitement is too great.

No greeting compares to the dog's.

Goldie is a Morkie. Goldie is legendary. Everybody loves Goldie.

Goldie: World's Cutest Morkie

Doesn't matter if she's having a bad day, scratchy or itchy, eating away at her bowl of dog turkey, chicken treats, attacking her toy Clifford, or gnawing on her own left foot, once someone arrives, she goes ballistic.

She can't help but keep The Promise she never realized she made, the automatic exuberance and personality bursting from her heart and soul every single day, her divinely appointed Signature Move, consistently, no question, she will deliver the ultimate showing of love to all.

Inside her little head, if she could talk, she'd say, "This is the greatest moment of my life to see you again!"

Baby Chewbacca

No offense to cat lovers, as the feline is of course special, too, but let's be honest: there's no welcome like a dog welcome.

That's the Dog's Promise.

We've had her in our family for a while now, and how she has blessed our lives.

When we bought her as the runt of the litter, from a shoe box in the parking lot at Home Depot, she preferred sitting on my head before bed.

Baby Golden

Now she is full grown and still so small we have to keep the hummingbirds at bay from flying away with her. We once saw 4 ants attempting to carry her to their hill.

We still snuggle, but only after she has rolled over to make certain I tickle her belly as she bites my hands, tail waggling so forcefully it creates it's own weather pattern.

Her name is officially Goldie, but we call her all kinds of nicknames, which are appropriate due to her size and behavior around the house, yard, and Tootsie Roll treats she leaves under my baby grand piano:

The Stain

Butt Rat

Doge

Scratches

Squirrel

Baby Chewbacca

Becka

Bird Food

Gordon

Bear

Kitty Kat

Golden

Sister

Poopy Bum

Good Girl

Cuddles

Oogie Boogie Oogoo Boo

Goldie brings automatic joy to everyone who meets and interacts with her.

The Promise is real with this one, she wields a powerful aura, and will bark at all things concerning, especially Alexa. In fact, we are curious if she orders most of the Amazon purchases that show up just so she can perform her barkopera arrietta concerto #2 for the always mysterious delivery guy.

Take her on a walk and there is no walk...not just because she has to sniff every 3 feet, but no one will let us pass, she's just too dang cute.

Goldie Claus

Ella, our oldest, keeps sending messages from Italy of excitement for her return home in a few weeks to embrace her Golden Girl and only sister.

Ella with her favorite sister

We love Goldie, and you most likely have a pet that you, too, adore. She is a part of our family and very important to us.

We keep lots of promises to her that she doesn't realize, but she keeps the most important promise to us, in showing affection, love, and joy every time we come around.

That's a pretty great Signature Move to be known for.

From what I know of most dogs, it seems to be something they just can't help but do.

That is The Dog's Promise.

We can learn a lot on how Dogs greet their owner and their loyalty. Thanks for sharing. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!
