Doing the Math: A Valued Client by the Numbers

Client relationships can be complicated, as they require constant communication and a willingness to collaborate closely to get things right. You need to establish a strong sense of trust, helping them work through their problems to the best of your ability. Most importantly, if you’re going to have a relationship, you need to be prepared for change, as you always must be ready to adapt to their evolving needs and help them reach their goals. It can be challenging, but when it all comes together, everything adds up perfectly!

As an example, let’s look at one of our multinational clients. They’re easily one of our best working relationships, having resulted in several big successes. Need proof? Just look at the numbers!

13: We have been our client's trusted advisor for 13 years!

We first started working with this client back in 2010. For more than a decade now, we’ve helped our client turn chaos into clarity, migrating and consolidating data centers and platforms to simplify security management and reduce costs.

Additionally, using advanced analytical and technical skills, our team has consistently solved what appeared to be unsolvable problems.

7: We have had seven client managers!

During our 13 years working with our client, people have come and gone. Obviously, when you have a long-term client like this, you need to ensure that the standards you set early on are carried forward over time. We have provided a level of stability, working closely with each new client manager to ensure they start off on the right foot. Client managers play a vital role and we have made sure to utilize purposeful people skills to develop strong relationships with each new manager to reinforce the trust we’ve developed over the years.

Dozens: We have supported dozens of consolidations!

Over more than a decade, we have supported a variety of consolidation efforts to eliminate redundancies and bolster efficiency. For instance, in the past we consolidated 10 different Content Management systems, running different technologies, platforms, and OSes, down to just one singular system. We also consolidated three data centers down to one, then moved these operations to the cloud. Yet our support isn’t solely focused on technology: we have also helped consolidate multiple divisions into one, and have even consolidated two corporations under a master corporation to a single consolidated platform. All of this has helped to greatly reduce costs and has made operations far more efficient.

9: We helped move their external sites from one 9s to five 9s!

Nines are a unit of measurement used to describe the reliability of a system or process. In the language of availability, the term “five 9s” refers to a reliability level of 99.999%, which means that a system is fully operational 99.999% of the time, an average of less than 6 minutes of downtime per year. When we first started working together, our client was only at a “one 9”, which meant that they saw an average annual downtime of 8.3 days, leading to costs equivalent to more than $1.8 million.

We were instrumental in moving their external sites from “one 9” to “five 9s”, implementing DevOps and Infrastructure as Code, creating a repeatable and reliable infrastructure in the process. When given access to a division that was to be consolidated, we recently saved them $21,000/month on their AWS bill with 3 days’ worth of work. Their annual downtime is now roughly five minutes, with downtime costs having been reduced from $1.8 million to less than $1000.

Do The Math: You Need Someone in Your Corner!

With the help of iuvo’s complete IT consulting and MSP services, our client has seen massive improvements, having consistently changed for the better. Our work together demonstrates the importance of having someone you can trust in your corner, to guide you through those uncertain times and help you turn chaos to clarity. Staying ahead of the curve means adapting to constant change, and that can be difficult to do on your own. With a trusted collaborator, you can be more confident about your future, comfortable in the knowledge that they can help you navigate the challenges ahead.
