Don't sign another telecoms contract...
....and please please do not commit yourself for a long period on old technology.
ISDN/PSTN
There's a common misconception regarding BT and the ISDN network. Many believe that if they go to BT they are cutting out the middle man and saving money - not so.
BT Openreach do indeed own the network - and they sell the products and services to BT Business and many other licenced resellers - like Easy Networks.
It's a bit like buying your gas from British gas, or Extra Energy, or any of the other utility providers - the gas you're buying doesn't change. This is exactly the same for ISDN/PSTN services.
What makes us really mad - seeing many providers over-commit their clients to these services which are rapidly being replaced with cheaper, more agile IP (VoIP/SIP) services. Many times we've been approached to assist a migration to newer, cheaper technology only to find the client has committed themselves for an extended period, and are locked in. Even worse - when someone hasn't read the small print, and their (now undesirable) contact has "auto-renewed" for another 12 months!!!
BT Openreach do not tie us into the services, so any contract your provider gets you to sign is purely to keep you there - they are unlikely to be committed to the services themselves.
We offer these services on a simple initial 90 day agreement which then renews on a 30 basis - that's it. So before you go to sign on the dotted line - read carefully and think how your world is likely to look towards the end of the agreement.
